PB teknik was founded by Patrik Bergström in 1996,

and was expanded by fellow owner Torbjörn Lång two

years later. Since 1998 they are co-owners of equal

parts of PB teknik AB. The company has consistently

expanded since then and has approximately 30 em-

ployees as of today.

Business concept and strategyPB teknik’s business concept is to offer consulting

services within HVAC design, cooling and system con-

trolling. We take on projects involving everything from

pilot studies, investigative case studies and system

solutions to drafting of mechanical system drawings

and record drawings to name a few.

We also perform controls, installation coordination

and inspections, mandatory ventilation checks and

EPC (Energy Performance Certification) for residential

housing as well as energy-efficiency inspections.

Quality policyPB teknik stands for creativity and knowledge. We en-

sure to consistently aim to meet customers’ requests,

implement and fulfill our customers’ high standards

and requirements and give added value for our custo-

mers.

Environmental policyPB teknik helps to substantialize the wishes and needs

continual improvement processes of our consultancy

and environment management system that is certified

according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Our highly effective CAD- and computer systems are the heart and brain of our operational business.

PB teknik continuously works with CAD, BIM and computer software develop-

ment to guarantee qualified and effective consultancy services.

We use modern applications and all of our employees work with their own PC-

client in Windows 7.

All of our employees work in their own PC client in

Windows 7 environment and the computers are linked

together in a PC network with 100 Mbits switches. Our

server is used for program, data- and back-up security.

The company is connected to the Internet via a fixed

link on 100 Mbps, which ensures fast and secure con-

nectivity.

Our computer software programsIn addition to Microsoft Office, we use the CAD

software program AutoCad 2007 – 2012 to produce

technical drawings.

We also use various HVAC application programs

such as CADVent 6, MagiCad for Revit and CQ-

TOOLS for Revit.

We use NavisWork Manage for coordination.

Energy-efficiency calculations play a major role in our

services and we use the competent software applica-

tion program IDA ICE 4 to do it.

Data security – a customer requirementSecurity is a very important cornerstone of our busi-

ness.

We want our clients to be able to trust our data

systems and routines.

This means regular and systematic back-up on all of

our intranet server disks every day.

All of our PC-clients have virus protection programs

installed which are continuously updated with the

latest versions.

out-of-office via a VPN-client.

We also use Netviewer and Skype to enable long

Early on in a project, we at PB teknik analyze and discuss with the client the

opportunities to design and draft as energy-efficient as possible.

We minimize cooling and heating needs and utilize all available technology

to minimize energy consumption with as little environmental impact as pos-

sible. We design, analyze and specify as well as perform instrumentation and

measurement for HVAC-systems. Energy-efficiency analysis is performed in PB

tekniks energy calculation software.

PB teknik assist their clients in lowering energy costs

through effectively analyzing and designing require-

ments and surrounding circumstances.

Examples of HVAC design and draft solutions we

have resolved:

Pressure control and air flow control schematics

are used to optimize and lower pressure needs in

duct and piping systems through analysis in our CAD

programs. We see to it that ventilation and climate

solutions are demand-controlled, and we choose

energy-efficient motors.

We minimize cooling needs through solar heat

protection and controlling.

We take advantage of ground-, water-, geother-

mal-, aero thermal- and waste heat as heat sources

for heat pumps as well as the employment of storing

heating/cooling in structure foundations and the use

of ice-storing and boreholes amongst other things.

We have cutting-edge expertise and knowledge

when it comes to solar thermal collectors for heating

as well as water heating.

We conduct pilot studies, should our client request

one, in the initial phase of a project.

In this pilot study we estimate technical and envi-

ronmental aspects, as well as the financial and tempo-

ral development in order to determine the possibilities

for best profitability.

Our consultants investigate the extent of the project

and how much time it will take.

HVAC consultation, quality and coordinationPB teknik offers extensive ocular status inspections of

building components and energy needs for an inven-

tory and analysis of information.

PB teknik also offers BAS-P/BAS-U (Construction

work planning coordinators/Construction work execu-

tion coordinators) as well as experts in the technical

fields of ventilation and energy.

Our responsibilities also include making sure that

the quality in a premise corresponds to and is in consis-

tency with our customers’ requirements.

Investigative inspectionsWe have project managers, inspectors and control-

lers who coordinate and control such things as the

mechanical system drawings, exploded view drawings,

construction documents as well as supervise project

execution to ensure accurate conduct.

Do you need a mandatory ventilation inspection or

an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)?

PB teknik executes, investigates and optimizes dif-

ferent strategies for energy conservation.

We also produce as-fitted drawings and archive

them digitally.

Overall, the common denominator for all stages

of our projects involve complete budgetary control,

calculations, test runs and education.

Mandatory ventilation inspectionA statutory inspection implemented to ensure that

the ventilation of a building works as intended so that

the people who live or work there are able to breathe

fresh air. Mandatory ventilation inspections should be

conducted at regular intervals depending on the type

of building and the existing ventilation system.

EPC (Energy Performance Certification)There is a legal requirement for residential buildings,

facilities, and special buildings that are larger than

1,000 m2 as well as villas for sale and rent that an EPC

is performed. PB teknik provides suggestions for im-

provement and cost estimates for corrective measures.

ThermographyPB teknik assist clients in finding actions to improve

the indoor climate and decrease energy consumption.

Through thermography we can discover hidden pipes

and ducts in the floors, walls and ceilings.

Helping to avoid, in that way, unpleasant surprises

caused by the overheating of electrical installations.

An annual inspection can also reduce insurance costs.

Energy optimizationAdaption to the highest efficiency performance, the

right temperature as well as the adaption of operating

hours for optimal heat recovery.

PB teknik can provide you with a cost estimate as

well as implement corrective measures to optimize

energy consumption.

Radon measurementThe Department for Health and Human Services and the

National Board of housing, building and planning gui-

delines suggest that radon gas levels should not exceed

200 Bq/m3.

The WHO’s recommended guideline value is 100 Bq/m3.

Radon measurement should be performed during the

colder months of the year, i.e. from October through

April. The measuring period should last at least 2

months, preferably 3.

year which was noted in 2005 as well as in 2009 when PB teknik was appointed

a Gazelle Company by the Swedish press journal Dagens Industri. This prize is

awarded to companies in Sweden who fulfill the following criteria:
