Application
Floor fixed bar aluminum grilles AR-8, AR-9 are used for air supply and exhaust in all kinds of low pressure air
handling.
Description Floor fixed bar aluminum grilles AR-8, AR-9 are made of cold-worked sectional aluminum, galvanized in natural
aluminum colour, fixed vertical vanes are designed so as to achieve the horizontal air injection at AR-8 and in theO15 angle air injection at AR-9. Both are intended for floor installation. The attached accessory devices for air flow
rate and direction control are made of black varnished pickled sheet.

The following tables include the results of tests conducted on three single deflection linear grilles. The
test results include Noise Criteria (NC). Static pressure versus air flow, throw and Ak. The grilles were
selected and supplied by Beta In August 1994. The Extrapolations and interpolations were made to Cover
a range of sizes and parameters according to the ETL testing laboratories Inc. who conducted the tests.
The linear grilles Were tested in accordance with the Air Diffusion Council test code for
grilles registers and diffusers No. ADC 1062: GRD-84. The grilles were tested in the ETL
testing laboratories.2The 470m reverberation room was used to conduct the tests. Quiet test air was provided' by a variable
volume air supply. Air volume was measured by the use of calibrated Orifice metering station while the
static pressure was measured employing a Dwyer Model 166-12,1/8’ diameter standard pitot tube and
read on a dwyer manometer Model 424-5.
Acoustical data was obtained Employing a Bruel and Kjaer digital frequency analyzer type 2131 and
analyzed on a computer. The reference sound source for this test was a calibrate ILG Fan Serial No. 17-
05-066A. The Octave band sound power levels were plotted on a graph of noise criteria curves which
is in the ADC test! codes.
