Hello All,

According to the legend, Change is the only constant. And I hope you wouldn't disagree. A lot changes every day around us, without us even noticing.

A flower suddenly blooms out of nowhere. The blue of the sky changes to pale yellow and then to hot orange, and then back to blue. The stray dog outside your house might give birth to puppies and you wouldn't know it at all.

Well, some of us do. Some of us do keep a watch at what all change around. Some of us do care about change. Like the editorial team. We care a lot about change. Because we believe that only when you change you grow. And to start with, we have changed what we show and how we show it. You saw evidence for yourself; we have redesigned Spark Minda Times. And we really hope you like what you see.

There’s a strong consonance between what we like to present to you and what I believe you all enjoy reading. एक रूल अचानक ही प्ा नहीं कहां सते श्िल जा्ा है। आसमान अपनी रं्गों की नमुाइश कर्ा हुआ अचानक ही नीलते रं्ग सते हलका पीला दरर हलकते पीलते सते नारं्गी और कभी कालते सते वापस नीला हो जा्ा है। आपकते घर कते ्गली का आवारा कुत्ा कब कुछ नवजा् बचचों को जनम िते िते्ा है और आपको इसकी जानकारी भी नहीं हो्ी।

िरै, हममें सते कुछ यह कर त्े हैं। हममें सते कुछ लो्ग हैं श्जसको इस बा् की जानकारी रह्ी है दक हमारते आस-पास कया पररव््फन हो रहते हैं। हमलो्गों में कुछ हैं श्जसको इस बिलाव की परवाह भी रह्ी है। एक संपािकीय समहू की ्रह। हमसभी पररव््फन की कारी परवाह कर त्े हैं कयोंदक हमलो्गों की यह सोच है दक आप ्भी आ्गते बढ़ त्े हैं जब आपकते अिंर पररव््फन की झलक दिि्ी है। औऱ शरुुआ् कर त्े हैं पररव््फन की उस झलक सते श्जसमें हमनते कया बिलाव दकए हैं और कैसते। आपनते िुि सते कई साक्य ितेिते, इससलए हमनते पररव््फन की अहसमय् को धयान में रि त्े हुए सपाक्फ समण्ा टाइमस में कुछ बिलाव दकए हैं। और हमें आपसते उममीि है दक आप इसते ितेिें्गते और पसंि भी करें्गते।

WIRING HARNESS ASSEMBLy UNIT INAUGURATED UNDER BUSINESS INTEGRATED CSR AT yERWADA CENTRAL PRISoN, PUNE

Continuing our efforts towards the upliftment of the

society, Spark Minda, Ashok Minda Group inaugurated

a new facility at Yerwada Central Prison (YCP), Pune

on 27th October, 2015. The unit has been set up to

manufacture Wire Harness within the premises of Jail

Authority for our esteemed Customer, Mahindra &

Mahindra Ltd. This Public – Private Partnership project

is a collaborative project between Minda SAI Ltd.,

Yerwada Central Prison Authority and Mahindra &

Mahindra Ltd.

The project started in February 2015, in which Minda

SAI Ltd. set up a manufacturing assembly and a

production unit for the inmates at YCP. Currently, 30

inmates are engaged in the manufacturing process with

the plan of engaging more in future.

The unit was inaugurated by Dr. B K Upadhyay, Addl.

Director General Police & Inspector General Prison,

Maharashtra State. Other important dignitaries present

at the inauguration included Mr. Nitin Tikle, VP -

SSBU and Mr. Nitin Chavan, DGM - SSBU, Mahindra

& Mahindra Ltd.; Mrs. Swati Sathe, DIG - Western

Region - Maharashtra; Dr. S Solunke, DIG - HQ; Mr.

U T Pawar, SP - YCP; Mr. S Shielke, SP - Open Jail; Mr.

Dilip Vasnik, Sr. Jailer. From Spark Minda, Ashok Minda

Group, the event was attended by Mr. NK Taneja, Mr.

N K Modi, Mr. Sanjeev Saxena, Mr. Manoj Tyagi, Mr. M

J Vibhandik, Mr. Anil Chore, Mr. Anil Batra, Mr. Praveen

Karn and Ms. Ruchira Ghormare along with members

from Aakarshan - Pune Center.

During his address, Dr. Upadhyay expressed

his happiness on YCP becoming the first jail in

Maharashtra to get the first of its kind modern wiring

harness assembly unit at its premises. He also said

that this collaborative effort would go a long way in

providing the perfect platform to enhance the skill

sets of the inmates and enable them to earn their

livelihood.

As the joint partner in the initiative Mahindra & Mahindra,

Vice President –SSBU, Mr Nitin Tikle said that the

initiative is in line with ‘Mahindra's Rise’ philosophy of

Driving Positive Change in the lives of our stakeholders

and team Mahindra would continue to offer their support

in encouraging such initiatives in future.

Our Group’s investment at Yerwada Jail includes

machinery, raw material and other quality systems

and procedures as per the policy and the facility will

be run by Jail inmates under the supervision of Minda

SAI officials. An MOU was signed between Yerwada

Jail and Minda SAI on Feb 07, 2015 and production

commenced after on job training of the inmates.

The YCP management whole-heartedly supported

Spark Minda, Ashok Minda Group for this socio-

business initiative and provided us an infrastructure on

lease in the premises along with other facilities as per

norms.

The inauguration event was organized by the Group

Communication & Group CSR teams and the valuable

support of the team from Minda SAI Limited, besides

others.

सलसमटते् नते कैदियों कते सलए वाइसीपी में पवसनमा्फण असेंबली औऱ

आजीपवका का चलानते कते सलए सक्षम बनाए्गा।

इस पहल में संयतुि भा्गीिार कते रूप में मदहंद्ा एं् मदहंद्ा एसबीय ू

उपाधयक्ष श्ी सनस्न दटकलते नते यह कहा दक यह संयुति ‘मदहंद्ा का

उिय’ िश्फन जो हमारते दह्धारकों कते औऱ मदहंद्ा समहू कते जीवन

में सकारातमक बिलाव कते साथ क्ार में हैं और भपवषय में इस

्रह का पहल को प्ोतसादह् करनते कते साथ उनकते पतेशकश को

जारी रिें्गते।

कते प्सशक्षण कते बाि ही उतपािन प्दरिया शुरू की जाए्गी।

सपाक्फ समण्ा, अशोक समण्ा ग्ुप नते वाईसीपी प्बंध को पूरते

्नमय्ा कते साथ दकया एक सामाश्जक वयवसाय की पहल कते

सलए औऱ पररसर में लीज और मानकिं्ों कते अनसुार अनय

सपुवधाएँ हमें एक बसुनयािी सपुवधाओ कते साथ प्िान की ्गई।

Our Business Group Company - Minda Automotive

Solutions Limited recently announced the launch

of a new product line for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler

segments. The launch of the products was held on

13th October, 2015 through their well-established pan

India distribution network.

The new product line includes 'Oil Dipped- Ready to

install' clutch plates, advance technology enabled brake

shoes, range of Ball Bearings, Racer Ball Bearing Kits,

Glow Plugs and automotive filters for the

Indian market.

In order to promote these newly launched products,

the company plans to organize 60 meets with retailers

and mechanics across the country in their plan for the

upcoming quarter.

In the new Clutch Plates, the friction material used

for manufacturing is tested as per IS-10686 & IS-3649

standard which ensures minimum power transmission

loss & better pickup. The Brake Shoes produced by the

company will ensure power braking under all weather

conditions. Friction material for manufacturing them is

tested as per IS-15708 & IS-11852 standard.

Along with this, the Group will also be introducing

Deep Groove Ball Bearings & Racer Bearing Kits for 2

wheelers in the Indian automotive market which will

provide high load carrying capacity & high reliability for

smooth drive & long life.

Automotive filters for four wheelers and SUVs also

formed a part of this exclusive product launch. After

producing 2 W & Tractor range of filters, MASL will

unveil the complete range of Oil, Air & Fuel Filters for

Cars & SUVs for Indian market. These filters being

manufactured at Baddi plant will not only provide

the best filtration, but also confirm purity to the

environment. The complete range is designed for the

Euro IV environment friendly engines which give high

filtration efficiency, hence improving the Engine Life.

On the occasion of the launch, GCEO -Mr. Ashok

Minda, said, “It gives us immense pleasure to introduce

such mega product range for the Indian users. Our

new product range is at par with international

products both in functionality and technology

aspects. We have attempted to actively pursue the

government's 'Make in India' initiative. Our venture

will act as a catalyst for the future growth of Spark

and assurance of safety underlie our famed quality &

Along with the above, MASL is all set to begin the

production of Glow Plugs at their Pant Nagar plant

& dual coil technology. These glow plugs will ensure

running on the Indian roads. Window Regulators will

also be available for both manual and power window

applications across all dealers in the country.

The recent product launch was an addition to

company's previous endeavour which supplies varied

product range for 2 Wheelers which includes auto

electrical systems (CDI/ RR/ Relays/ Ignition Coils/

Flashers), control cables & automotive filters.

o’zMINDA LLC WINS BEST PRIMARy TRADE UNIoN oRGANIzATIoN AWARD

Reaching a significant milestone, our Business Group

Company, O’zMinda LLC received the Best Primary

Trade Union Organization award in Uzbekistan in

August, 2015. The event was held at Turin University in

Tashkent, the capital and the largest city of Uzbekistan.

This competition was initiated first time in the year

2011 by Uzmetmashsanoat Trade Union and is held

every year since then to award the organization having

the best employee working conditions, safety policies

and worker rights.

All the companies of Uzbekistan including 64 UzAuto

Organizations jointly participated in this event.

Mr. Uktam Bozorov, Champion for Trade Unions -

O’zMinda LLC represented our Group during the

award ceremony. The award was presented by the

Board of Uzmetmashsanoat Trade Union.

The application procedure required submitting all

relevant documents like photographs, information,

presentation and other relevant evidences projecting

the best practices followed by O’z Minda LLC. The Jury

included senior members from different companies

and Uzmetmashsanoat Trade Union.

Post this success, the O’zMinda team plans to apply

for more such awards which are applicable to the

organization. The management is extremely elated and

all set to motivate the team into taking our Group to

greater heights.

Group participated as a keynote speaker at a seminar–

Business Opportunities for Indian Companies in

Eastern Germany held in Mumbai. The seminar was

jointly organized by the Embassy of Federal Republic

of Germany, Indo German Chamber of Commerce

& Germany Trade & Invest. Mr. Taneja presented the

success story of Spark Minda, Ashok Minda Group in

Eastern Germany – shared the Company’s Corporate

profile with a special focus on German operations.

During the course of the discussion, he addressed

many queries of the participants. Some interesting

questions which were raised included – why was

Germany chosen for expansion of the Group, what

challenges were faced during the course of expansion,

any major cultural drawbacks for the team settled in

Germany, what are the Group’s further expansion

plans and the like.

A team of Spark Minda officials visited Harley-Davidson

Motor Company, Capitol Drive, Wauwatosa, WI

USA on 24th June, 2015. The purpose was to discuss

future business opportunities for our Group product

range. Spark Minda team was represented by Mr Vivek

Kumar Sharma, Mr P.K Dhawan, Mr Jatin Chawla, Mr

Anil Gupta and Mr Harjeet Singh who had detailed

discussions with their Supply and Engineering team

at Willie G Davidson Product Development Centre.

Harley-Davidson Motor Company is the existing

customer to MCL Security Systems and our Group

team officials are making efforts to expand it further

by developing relationship for other potential products.

The Second Group Finance Conference of Spark

Minda, Ashok Minda Group was held from 12th -

14th August, 2015 at Jaipur. The objective behind the

initiative was exchange of ideas between the finance

teams from all our Business Group companies for the

overall development of the function. The Conference

aimed at bringing together all the finance teams with

the motto of working Together Towards Excellence for

the holistic development of our Group.

All the Finance HOD's along with their teams

participated in this meet. The 3 day conference

initiated with Mr. Ajay Sancheti, Head - Group � Spark Minda officials at Willie G Davidson Product Development Centre

Corporate Finance and Legal welcoming all the

participants and addressing the gathering. A glimpse

into the past conference held at Noida in 2004

stunned the audiences with some rare photographs.

This followed by commencement of the Conference by

Mr D.C Sharma, Group Chief Financial Officer wherein

he delivered a motivating address followed by sharing

of valuable insights about our Group.

He took the participants through the growth journey

of our Group over the years and also spoke about the

future potential, we possess as a team. Mr. Sharma also

highlighted the performance of Minda Corporation

Limited in capital markets in the recent months. He

encouraged all the participating members to come

up with new ideas and share the thoughts and good

practices with our other business group companies

time to time.

The conference also included interactive presentations

for the benefit of all members, it also included

awareness sessions on proposed new legislations like

Goods & Service Tax (GST) and IND-AS from the

speakers of KPMG. All the BG CFO's briefly explained

about their units with good practices being followed,

challenges and the way forward to tackle it. This was

duly appreciated by the judging panel comprising of Mr.

D.C Sharma, Mr. Ajay Sancheti and Mr. Vinod Bapna.

The best presentation was awarded to Minda Vast

Access Systems Pvt. Ltd which was presented by Mr.

Mahendra Naredi along with his other team members.

At the end of second day, an Open House session

was Chaired by Mr. DC Sharma in which he took

suggestions, ideas & queries from different units and

also discussed the way forward. He also mentioned

that the only way to achieve long term success is by

looking ahead and moving together with passion,

dedication and discipline. Rigorous discussions were

held on the current issues faced by our group and the

appropriate way forward was charted out with a duly

channelized feedback mechanism.

The conference ended with a Team Building session by

Mr. Lalitendu Samanta, Group Chief Human Resources

Officer which involved many group activities as well

individual assessments. The session was fun filled along

with great learning on teamwork and contributing

as a valuable team member. It helped people open

up amongst each other with an influx of some very

creative ideas.

During the Conference, various activities like Yoga

sessions, Finance Quiz, Team games etc. were also

organized which were appreciated by all. Towards

Minda Corporation Limited - Die Casting Division

recently sponsored a seminar organized by ILZDA

(Indian Lead and Zinc Development Association). The

event was held on 28th July, 2015.

The conference was organized at the Crown Plaza

Hotel, Gurgaon. Around 80 delegates from various

industries participated in the event. Mr. Ashim Vohra,

President of ILZDA and CEO, Minda Corporation

Limited - Die-Casting Division delivered the inaugural

speech followed by a presentation by Mr. Amit

Agrawal and Mr. Sanjay Pahwa on ‘Die Casting Design

and Process Improvement – An Update’.

The event proved to be an important initiative to not

only build the image of Spark Minda, Ashok Minda

Group but was also a truly enriching experience for all

participating members.

MASL held its Annual Sales Conference from 6-10 July,

2015. The team was taken on a 5 day tour to Bajpur,

Pantnagar and Baddi at the Suppliers' plants of CDI,

Control Cables and filters and also to MCL Plant.

During the meet, target vs achievement of last year

& new targets for the current year were reviewed.

Various awards & certificates were given to sales team

for their target achievements. The team was also

briefed on new products to be launched. During the

event, product training and sales behavioural training

was also imparted.

STEP UP TRAINING oN SELLING SKILLS

The All India Sales Team (Junior and Middle

management) underwent a step up training on selling

skills on 10th July 2015 at Noida. The training included

various aspects on selling skills, customer expectations,

customer buying cycle, overcoming objections, daily

sales report and issues related to closing the sales deal.

A series of road shows ‘Asli Naqli’ were organized by

ACMA at Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut in August 2015.

The objective was to make customers, visitors and

On the occassion of New Year, a get together was

organized for the employees of Uzminda in the factory

premises. During the meeting, the General Director,

community gathering. The objective of this activity is

to strengthen relationship between all people. The

PT MAI employees celebrated Indonesia Independence

Day on 14th August, 2015. The management and all

employees participated in it with great enthusiasm.

Independence Day event is organized by HR&GA

Dept and is conducted at PT MAI Futsal Field. The

event is filled with Indonesia traditional games such as

tug of war, cracker eating contest, sack race, moved

eel in a jar, and also Futsal exhibition match between

management and employees. The expatriate also joins

this event.
