We truly appreciate all you do for Ketterlinus. We have several vol- unteer requests that I would like to share with you. If you are interested, please let me know. Volunteer Requests: *A volunteer is needed to help find the reading level of books in first grade class library. This can be done at home, if you have access to a computer. *A volunteer is needed to cut out shapes using the die-cut ma- chine. *Volunteers are always welcome in the media center and the cafeteria. During the month of November, our students and staff have been learning and/or reviewing the Character Count pillar of Citizenship. During our parent pickup time, I ask that our parents display good character (citizenship) by being a good neighbor and by obeying the school procedures and rules. As shared at the beginning of the year, please enter the “car line” by way of Castillo Drive and turn right through the wooden gates. It has been brought to my attention that several parents are ar- riving later and are then “cutting” the line by turning left in front of the wooden gates. Please show good character. Dear Ketterlinus Family and Friends –

I hope you to see many of our parents and grandparents at our

Thanksgiving Luncheon on Tuesday, November 19th. Please check the

Ketterlinus Cares Wear PURPLE to honor our veterans every Wednesday during the

month of November. Our staff is wearing purple and jeans on

Wednesday with a donation to Vets 4 Vets, a local organization that

assists our country’s finest, when they are in need. Join us as we

honor our veterans by wearing PURPLE on Wednesdays!

Ketterlinus K-Kids School Wide Food Drive We are collecting food to help local families this holiday sea-son. Please send in non-perishable food items such as canned fruits and vegetables, cake mixes, beans, powdered milk, cereal, pasta and soup. We will collect food items until Wednesday, November 20th. Thank you, in advance, for helping our students to make a difference!

Looking for the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday shopping list? If so, we have an idea for you! Our P.T.O. is selling Saira Gift Certificates for $25.00. Each certificate is good for $25.00 worth of food and can be used at over 17 LOCAL restaurants. KES will receive 15% of every certificate sold . It is a wonderful way to support our local businesses, as well as support KES! Department and The North Pole Telephone

Company are holding their annual “Phone calls

from Santa”. Parents with children under the

age of eight (8), that live in St. Johns County,

can sign up to have Santa call their child at

home this Christmas. Visit our website on No-

can stop in the Recreation Department’s main

Council meeting is Tuesday,

November 19th @ 7:45 a.m. in

the Science Lab. Please come to hear Dr. Joyner pre-

sent the “State of the Schools”, which is the superinten-

dent’s overview of current school issues, awards, data,

testing results, and the ideals of our school system.

Coffee and a light breakfast will be served .

St. John’s County Public Library Events—Anastasia Island Branch

*On Saturday, November 16th @ 10:30, join the Knit Wits, a new knitting group. They will teach you how to knit. Bring you own knitting needle.

*On Wednesday, November 20th @ 2:30, a Thanksgiving Craft Event will be held at the Anastasia Branch. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the

Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Coupon Night

Thank you, Tabitha Dan-son, for sharing your sec-crets of coupon saving with our parents and staff. We all left feeling motivated. Also, thank you for donating the cost of the class to the “Raise the Roof with Books” initia-

tive. We raised $125.00!!

College Shirt Day On Thursday, November 21st, our staff will be wearing their college t-shirt as a way of promoting college awareness

with our students. We want them to recognize colleges for their academic programs, rather than for athletics. We would love to see our students participate

too!
