Cincinnati is home to two major sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds, the oldest franchise in Major League Baseball, and the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League.

The University of Cincinnati, founded in 1819, is one of the 50 largest in the United States, and is located 2.5 miles north of the downtown business district.

Tips for Students at the PACE Annual Forum PACE extends a special welcome to each student at this year’s PACE Annual Forum! We hope you are excited to be part of the PACE Annual Forum, and want you to enjoy the conference. Is the PACE Annual Forum your first professional conference? Congratulations! Here are a few suggestions to help you make the most of the experience, and take advantage of the opportunities that are available.

Join us for the Welcome Reception on Sunday, July 24th in the Great Hall at the University of Cincinnati Tangeman University Center. This casual gathering is a great opportunity to meet students and faculty from other schools around the world, and to meet representatives from the PACE companies. Come enjoy the food and friendship.

Take time to meet and talk with the other people at the conference. Network with the students, faculty, and industry experts. Come to the Recruiting Session on Tuesday afternoon to learn more about opportunities at some of the PACE companies. Bring your resume!

Monday and Tuesday are primarily dedicated to the RSMS project competition. If you are not part of a project team, we recommend that you attend the team presentations and learn how each group met the challenge to design a Reconfigurable Shared-Use Mobility System vehicle. Which one do you expect to see on the road in a few years?

Be sure to attend the Wednesday and Thursday sessions! These two days after the RSMS project competition are filled with activities and presentations for faculty AND students. You can learn a lot from the presentations and workshops.

Executives from the PACE companies are here. Plan to attend their presentations, ask questions during Q&A, and even talk with them during lunch or breaks. How often can you speak face-to-face with a vice president or director from a large company such as GM or Siemens PLM Software? You can learn a lot from these successful leaders. What is the latest news from their company, how did they succeed in their career, what do they look for in new employees?

Join the workshops on collaboration for product design, new features in NX, and more. The topics were selected to help you to learn about product development and PLM in industry today. In a few years you will be an industry professional – these workshops can help you to prepare.

What if there are two activities scheduled at the same time? Professional conferences often offer two or more sessions at the same time in order to give attendees more options. The choice is yours – attend the session that interests you more, or that will enhance your skillset.

Friday July 29th is “PACE Cultural Day.” Join other PACE delegates to visit local places of interest, and get to know each other better before everyone heads home. You may want to make plans with the students from another PACE school to sightsee or dine together.

Have fun! The Welcome Reception, Awards Dinner, and Friday Cultural Tours are opportunities to relax a little and enjoy yourself in the presence of friends.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2016 PACE Annual Forum!
