Congratulations to each and every
one of you that participated in the
Veteran’s Event that the HIHRC and
Salvation Army held in July at the Hol-
iday Inn Express in East Peoria.
We have been selected by national
SHRM as a finalist for the 2015 Pinna-
cle Award!
The Pinnacle Awards Program is
designed to recognize outstanding
achievements in chapter/state council
development and contributions to the
advancement of effective HR manage-
ment. All SHRM professional chapters
and state councils are eligible to com-
pete if they have submitted their
SHAPE report and meet minimum
affiliation requirements. (SHRM)
Our chapter is one of seven in the
entire United States that will be
honored on November 20th in
Washington D.C. at a special
luncheon!
Attending the luncheon are Cathy Plouzek,
who was in charge of the event, Sharon
Bond, 2017 President Elect and Nancy
Wraight, 2016 Chapter President.
This is a major, wonderful program for our
chapter, but it is even greater than that—
we are talking more about veterans in the
work place and are working on initiatives to
drive that forward later in 2015 and in 2016.
The HIHRC has previously won the Pinna-
cle Award for our partnership with the Peo-
ria Park District and the ELITE Program,
started by Carl Cannon. We are still active-
ly involved in this project and will be looking
for chapter volunteers in early 2016.
Thank you to everyone who helped make
this possible!
