By your amazing contributions and attendance tonight, you are showing your commitment to endorsing one of the best K-12 districts in Wisconsin, to enriching the lives of our children and to supporting our talented educators. This year's Fund-A-Grant will take place directly following the Live Auction. As in past years, the dollars raised through Fund-A-Grant will be used to enhance and improve the learning experience of our students at every school in the district. Dear MTEF Supporters, Welcome to the 19th Annual Tartan Bash – Destination Education, benefiting the students of our outstanding school district. We are excited you are able to join us tonight and thankful for your support of this event. This event has come a long way since the initial Tartan Ball was held at the Midwest Express Center in 2000. In subsequent years, the Ball was also held at the Pfister and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Renamed the Tartan Bash, the event was held at the River Club from 2013 to 2016. For the second consecutive year, we are holding the Bash at Ozaukee Country Club. We are pleased to continue holding the event in Mequon and hope you enjoy tonight’s Bash. Regardless of name or location, this remains an event that brings together supporters of public education for a fun night of dinner, dancing and bidding as we raise funds for our school district. The funds raised tonight will allow the MTEF to continue supporting advances in technology, curriculum and professional development in our school district. Since 1998, the MTEF has awarded over $3.8 million in grants. Your support tonight will continue to impact every school, every teacher, every student! Our fundraising efforts would not be possible without the multitude of generous financial, in-kind, auction and raffle donations from area businesses and individuals. Considerable time, energy and hard work are involved in planning and coordinating the Tartan Bash. The MTEF is very fortunate to have a group of wonderfully dedicated volunteers. Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation, Inc. MISSION The Mission of the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation is to develop community-wide private financial support for the Mequon-Thiensville School District and, through grants, to help support continued excellence in education. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The Foundation is committed to helping address the budgetary shortfalls and to ensure ensure that the Mequon-Thiensville School District advances in technology, curriculum, and personnel. Declining enrollments coupled with the unfavorable state funding formula make this a fiscally challenging time for the Mequon-Thiensville School District. Creation of strong private-public partnerships empowers supporters of public education to partner to make a difference as we prepare our students for the 21st century global world. ABOUT THE FOUNDATION The Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation (MTEF) was incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit organization committed to advancing educational excellence. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which operates independently yet in conjunction with the Mequon-Thiensville School District (MTSD) and Board of Education. The Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code. The MTEF benefits all six schools in the MTSD consisting of Donges Bay Elementary School, Oriole Lane Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, Lake Shore Middle School, Steffen Middle School, and Homestead High School. To achieve a distinct, beneficial, and clearly understood role in the community.

General Auction Procedures

Credit Card Registration All attendees at the Tartan Bash are requested to record a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) at the Registration table from 6:00 - 7:30pm to help facilitate quick and easy payment. Once your credit card is swiped, you will receive a Bidder Number and may proceed to the silent auction portion of the evening.

Silent Auction

1. The Silent Auction will begin at 6:00pm for all patrons. The

auction bidding will continue until all guests are seated for dinner and a final countdown takes place.

2. Bidding may be placed on an easy-to-operate touch screen or Smartphone. Touch screens with color photos and detailed directions will be available throughout the evening and circulated by auction ambassadors. To bid with your Smartphone, simply point your browser to www.bidmtef.com. Use your bid number to bid.

3. Checkout will begin at 9:45pm. Cashiers will be ready to accept payment and pick up of auction merchandise from 9:45 - 11:30pm. Payment for auction items may be made by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Any bidder not making arrangements for payment this evening may forfeit the right to purchase the item.

4. All sales are final and there will be no exchange of items or alteration of item restrictions, except where specified.

5. The Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation and the Tartan Bash Committee make no warranty of the quality or value of the auction items. Items are sold "as is."

6. All items must be removed from the auction pick-up area prior to midnight. Winning bidders must arrange for transportation of items.

7. Gift certificates are redeemable for the designated item only and are not redeemable for cash. The winning bidder may

need to contact the donor to arrange for services/goods to be fulfilled. All gift certificates must be used by the date specified.

8. Any item that requires scheduling a date must be MUTUALLY AGREED UPON between the winning bidder and the donor.

9. Because of printing deadlines, items submitted after the deadline may not be included in the auction program.

10. Values set forth in this catalog are the donor's estimated and are not warranted by The Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation or the Tartan Bash for tax purposes. Under current federal tax laws, the amount of the contribution that is deductible (i.e. the portion that is a gift) is limited to the excess of the amount contributed over the value of the item purchased. When the value is not clearly defined (i.e. "Priceless") the winning bidder should consult his/her tax advisor.

11. Some auction items in the program will be offered in an on-line auction prior to the event and may not be available for bidding at the Tartan Bash.

Live Auction

1. All buyers must be registered. During the live auction,

raised paddles will signal your bid for the auctioneer and the final bidder will be recorded by the auction team.

2. The auctioneer reserves the right to reopen the bidding if there is a dispute.

3. The Fund-A-Grant portion of the auction will invite bidders to donate at specific dollar amounts. The dollar amounts will be announced in increments. To donate at a specified level, simply raise your paddle and the auction team will read and record your bid number.

4. If you purchased an item for pick-up, you will need to check-out with the cashier before proceeding to the merchandise pick-up area to obtain your item(s).
