No program and no refreshments because of Christmas Party.last only one hour.
Christmas Party, Saturday, December 14. Masonic Hall, 208 -ffetfto First Street,Champaign, Illinois, 7 p.m. Each member can bring two guests. This committeeis chaired by Ms. Mary Butler Brooks and they plan to have a delicious mealwith all of the trimmings. If you were not at our last meeting, pleasetelephone Ms. Brooks (367-7276), for instructions as to what to bring. Bringyour Secret Pal's Christmas present, or leave it with the committee, if youplan not to attend.
Another committee has been formed, co-chaired by Mrs. Lucy J. Gray, and Ms.Peggy Minor, This is a Luncheon Forum. Ms. Minor informed me that the groupwill hold its first meeting Thursday, December 12, 11:30 a.m. at the RoundBarn in Champaign. Participants will visit the buffet for the modest price of$4.45 and get about whatever interests them. I can almost guarantee that oneof these future sessions will be on Antiques,
At our recent meeting (November 9, 1985) at Salem Baptist Church, the groupvoted to pay all of the Fair share Assessments, by using monies from thesavings account. As a new president, I had to face the reality that we arenot solvent. We do not get enough from dues, to take care of our nationalobligations.
The Treasurer, Dorothy Vickers-Shelley suggested that one hundred dollars bepaid monthly until the past due assessments are liquidated. This seems to bean appropriate issue to be discussed under "New Business", at the December 14meeting.
This newsletter is being mailed to currently financial and non-financialmembers. To those of you who have not paid your dues, please do notcontribute to the demise of this organization by not keeping up "your fairshare".
Mark your calendar: Let's get into the spirit of Christmas. Remember that weare sisters in color and "the strong should bear the infirmities of the weak".
