Tune in to FM 102.3 to listen. Six Pillar Essay Contest April Sponsored by the United Way, the contest is open to all Kent County students in grades 2-12. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each grade countywide are selected and awarded for their achieve- ments. Character Counts KENT COUNTY‘s mission is to

strengthen our community by encouraging a

Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility,

Fairness, Caring, and Ci!zenship.

With a comprehensive educa!on program,

community events and educa!onal contests we aim to

make a posi!ve difference in the lives of the students in Kent

County.

CCKC has worked closely with students in grades Pre-K - 9th

at Kent County Public Schools for the past 15 years and we

look forward to bringing the program to Kent School and

Chestertown Chris!an Academy this year.

The Character Educa!on program is implemented by

community volunteers, known to their students as

Character Coaches. With support and guidance, our team of

Coaches visits classrooms where they hold discussions,

organize ac!vi!es and teach students the importance of

strong ethical values. For more informa!on on our program

Character Counts Kent County is an independent non-profit

organiza!on opera!ng under the guidance of an Advisory

Board and execu!ve director. Advisory Board Members

Gina Jachimowicz, Nancy Harrington

Our Goals for the Year: ◊ Designate a character coach for every Kent County

classroom by building upon our team of commiLed

volunteers.

◊ Work with Kent School and Chestertown Chris!an

Academy to successfully introduce and implement our

character educa!on program.

◊ Expand our program to offer Youth Leadership courses

for high school students.
