SPOTLIGHT ON THE BOARD OF D IRECTORS

They’re back! With the return of Candy Cane Tales and Holiday Carols you are sure to once again see your favorite holiday character, hear a song that brings back a special memory, or catch a snippet of a show that always puts you in a holiday mood.

What a treat it is to be a part of the beginnings of a new holi-day show tradition. And, how fortunate to have an original

show written by the Managing Artistic Director of Waukesha Civic Theatre, John Cramer, that we can call our own. Actually, each year this show will be an original as John adds something new, tweaks and deletes, leaving us anticipat-ing each year’s new production.

Now that you are here getting in the holiday mood, who do you know that might need a big dose of cheer? Tell them about this experience, let them know it won’t break a tight budget and is absolutely family-friendly. If they can’t make it to this show be sure to ask them to join you for one of our next productions. The Civic Theatre truly has something for everyone and we need you to help spread the news.

Have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for being here.

M AD CORNER

As Andy Williams said, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.” And in the words of Blues Traveler “If it’s Hanukah, or Kwanzaa, Solstice Harvest, or December 25th, peace on earth to everyone, and abundance to everyone you’re with.” I love this season, and I love WCT’s tradition of presenting an affordable family show for the community to enjoy. This season we continue to build a tradition that has long been a dream of mine, Candy Cane Tales And Holiday Carols, a holiday variety show that gives us a little bit

of everything. We hope you enjoy the stories, the music, the characters, and the sentiment as much as we do. And remember, if you’re looking for a good gift to give this season, consider our PIX 3 for $39! Combine it with David Hundhausen’s WCT Retrospective and a WCT mug or wine glass, and voila! You have a wonderful gift of theatre to share with anyone. Happy Holidays!

A new artist’s work is displayed during the run of each of WCT’s productions. The work of the artists can be viewed whenever the building is open. The art displayed during Candy Cane Tales And Holiday Carols is by Garry Bakic & Lynn M. RixVolunteer Opportunities with the Waukesha Civic TheatreWCT has a number of opportunities for people who are looking to volunteer some of their time.

Ushers – WCT has the opportunity for hands-on-the-job training, and we welcome people with a willing heart to volunteer as ushers in our 54th season. Ushers must be 14 years or older and are expected to work one performance per production. Ushers duties include helping patrons by taking tickets and directing patrons to assigned seats. Active ushers will receive one compli-mentary voucher to see the Preview performance of each of WCT’s produc-tions! If you are interested in becoming an usher, please call (262) 547-4911.

Raffle Sellers – Would you like to help WCT raise money while enjoying a performance at the same time? Then

volunteer to sell raffle tickets during performances. Sellers must be over 14 years old or accompanied by an adult. Proceeds benefit WCT’s operat-ing fund. Please call Beverly Peterson at (262) 547-4911, ext. 12 or e-mail at [email protected] If you are interested.

WCT is also looking for volunteers for scenery construction, lighting, sound,

costumes, props, and painting. For more information, call WCT at (262) 547-4911.

Pick‘n Save Advantage “We Care” ProgramWhen you sign up for your new Pick‘n Save Advantage Plus Savers Club Card, don’t forget to designate the Wauke-sha Civic Theatre (Account Number 918480) as your preferred WE CARE non-profit organization.

The WE CARE program is a donation program allowing non-profit organi-zations like ours to receive additional funds by encouraging Pick‘n Save customers like you to use your Advan-tage Card each time you shop. Every time you use your Advantage Card at the checkout, a donation (which is a percentage of the amount of your grocery purchase) will be added auto-matically to our account.
