RewaVillageisasmallAmerindiancommunitylocatedintheNorthRupununiforestincentralGuyana.ItissituatedattheconfluenceoftheRewaandRupununirivers.Rewaishometoabout300inhabitants,mostlyfromtheMakushitribe.TheRewaareaisrenownedforitsabundanceofwildlife.Tomakethisuniqueresourcemoreavailabletotourists,theRewaEcoLodgewasbuiltwithacommunitygrantprovidedbyConservationInternational.Intherecentpast,visitingbirdenthusiastsnoticedthatthewaterssurroundingtheareawereteemingwithgiantArapaimagigas,afishnearlyextinctthroughouttheirnatalwatersoftheAmazonbasinandCentral/SouthAmerica.SeveralorganizationsincludingConservationInternational,USAID,andCostaDelMarSunglassesbeganaprojectin2010toassessthestrengthofthefisheryandthefeasibilityofpursuingtheNorthRupununiasasport-fishingdestination.

JetservicefromtheUSisrelativelyeasy.DailyservicefromMiamiInternationalAirportisavailabletoGeorgetown,Guyana.CaribbeanAirlines,SurinaAirways,CopaAirlines,andAmericaAirlinesalloperateflightsfromMiamitoGeorgetown.ThoseanglerstravelingfromoutsidetheUSmayfindeasierconnectionsthroughJFKinNewYorkCity.CaribbeanAirlinesoperatesdirectflightsfromJFKtoGEO(CheddiJaganInternationalAirport),Georgetown,Guyana.
