MAJOR EVENT OPPORTUNITYWaikato Badminton is a not for profit regional sporting

organisation based in Hamilton which develops, promotes and

governs the sport of badminton in the Waikato region. Waikato

Badminton facilitates a variety of structured programs, events and

casual opportunities to enjoy badminton.

Be part of one of Waikato’s biggest sporting events – the Waikato

International 2020 from 26-29 March 2020. This is a Badminton

World Federation and Badminton Oceania sanctioned event,

delivered in partnership with Badminton New Zealand.

The Waikato International 2020 falls within the Olympic

qualification period and will attract some of the New Zealand,

Oceania, and world's best athletes keen to gain important world

ranking points in readiness for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This event attracted over 100 players in 2019 including a number of

Olympians, Commonwealth Games representatives, and World

Championship and World Junior Championship medallists.

Waikato Badminton has a proud history of delivering international

events with the assistance of local event personnel who have

extensive experience and expertise delivering a variety of

high quality events.
