The Esthetic Institute Training Center, is a premier educational facility that offers aspiring and experienced

Estheticians a high standard of Esthetic training by professional and qualified educators.

Located in Calgary, Alberta, The Esthetic Institute is one of the newest Esthetic training facilities attracting

students nationally. Our 5,400 square foot training center, offers both beginner and advanced certified courses

in a beautiful spa-like ambient environment. The Esthetic Institute has opened the doors to many offering a

Our primary goal is to ensure your success as an Esthetician! Each one of our educators specializes in different

areas of Esthetics and is dedicated to providing you with all of the skills and knowledge you will need as

Esthetics. Your education will consist of theory and hands on practical training. In most classes, external

• Upon completion of a certified course, a practical and theory exam will be administered.

Students must achieve 70% on theory and 80% on the practical exam in order to receive

a certificate. Students will not be permitted to participate in the exam if quotas are not

complete.

• An Honours Certificate will be issued to students achieving 90% in both theory and

practical exam.

• A rescheduling fee of $250 applies to any student who misses a class day(s) or needs to

change a course or exam date.

• Courses include all in class training supplies, unless otherwise noted.

This intensive certified Facial course includes training in

bacteriology and sanitation, cell structure, muscle and

skeletal systems, skin histology and physiology, disorders

and diseases, skin type evaluations, extractions and

massage. Students will learn differentiating techniques

that add relaxation and nurturing to the facial. Procedures

will include a basic deep pore cleansing facial with steam,

European facial and an introduction to acne, anti-aging, and

sensitive skin facials. In addition, you will be introduced to

the use of high frequency, galvanic, rotary brush and micro-

Lay the foundation for an exciting career by specializing as a Permanent Makeup Artist. This intense 6 day course

will teach you the art of perfecting eyebrows, lip lines and eye contouring through precise filtration of colour pigments

into the skin. You will receive comprehensive theory and practical training that will give you the knowledge and skills

to become a successful Permanent Makeup Artist. The concept of Permanent Makeup can be traced back to early

Egypt. Cleopatra’s beauty was enhanced with the early techniques of bamboo sticks and red earth. Permanent Makeup

allows your clients to enhance their natural beauty and correct tiny imperfections without the recovery time of surgical

procedures. With the wide range of superior pigments from Germany, you will be taught advanced colour theory as well

as Dermatology of the skin, skin diseases and disorders and sanitation and sterilization protocols.

Chemical Peeling – Level I $595


This 3 day class is designed for those previously certified

in Facials. The manual includes a review of the following:

bacteriology and sanitation, the skin’s structure and its

functions and skin type evaluations. Theory will include

a discussion on AHA’s and BHA’s used in skin care and

chemical exfoliation, contraindications, product knowledge

and extensive repetitive practical hands on training using a

professional chemical peel skin care line. Each student will

be given the option to receive a chemical peel on day 2 and

will require models with skin care concerns on day 3.

Take a ride in the Creative Director chair. This one day workshop is

designed for the Professional Makeup Artist to take the ropes in planning

and developing an upcoming photo shoot. From organizational skills to

leadership, you will be planning 3 weeks in advance to this workshop,

with Instructor Trena Olfert. Students will be coordinating vision and

inspiration boards and will be provided with 2 models to photograph.

On the day of the workshop, you will be prepping models, from hair

to makeup to styling, and crafting your final vision of look and feel.

Professional photography is provided by local fashion photographer

Jess Bobyn. Models will be photographed in “studio” and utilizing “urban

environment”. Digital copies of your work will be provided following the

workshop. Students will end class sharing their experiences with each

other and leave with a more solid skill and mindset. A great workshop

to develop your communication and creative skills.

Take chemical peeling to the next level with this advanced

course designed for those experienced in glycolic peels.

Advanced theory, treatment protocols and hands on

practical application in TCAs will be taught using a coat

dependent exfoliator. Each student will experience a one

coat 5% TCA peel. Jessner’s light will be discussed and

Makeup Artistry – Level I $595

This hands on entry level makeup course is especially

designed for individuals entering the Esthetic industry

or considering a career in Makeup Artistry. Training

includes dealing with skin conditions including hygiene

and sanitation practices governed by Alberta Health;

colour theory and introduction to product knowledge and

stocking a professional kit. Students will learn complete

makeup application techniques for weddings, evenings

and events. Specialty skills include artificial eyelash

application, facial contouring and working with all diverse

skin tones and ages. Models are required for 2 days and

students will work on each other several times. Theory

and practical exam required for certificate on last day.

technology of Fractional Laser. This course will cover the theory of

fractional laser function and concept, wavelength considerations and

effects of this treatment. The following indications will be reviewed;

deep wrinkles and damaged elasticity, scars and stretch marks,

dermal pigmentation, as well as pre and post patient care and room

set up. Students will have practical training and will experience and

treat models in class.

Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive

treatment that uses a device to deliver

a laser beam divided into thousands of

microscopic treatment zones that target

a fraction of the skin at a time. This is

analogous to a photographic image

being enhanced or altered pixel by pixel.

Fractional laser treatment has bridged

the gap between the ablative and non-

ablative laser techniques used to treat

sun-damaged and aging skin. While

ablative laser treatments work mainly on

the epidermis and non-ablative treatments

work solely on dermal collagen only,

fractional laser treatments work at both the epidermal and dermal layers of the

skin. There are now a number of machines available that use fractional technology,

based on erbium:YAG lasers for superficial treatments and CO2 lasers for deeper

treatments.

technology of Fractional Laser. This course will cover the theory of

fractional laser function and concept, wavelength considerations and

effects of this treatment. The following indications will be reviewed;

deep wrinkles and damaged elasticity, scars and stretch marks,

dermal pigmentation, as well as pre and post patient care and room

set up. Students will have practical training and will experience and

Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive

treatment that uses a device to deliver

a laser beam divided into thousands of

microscopic treatment zones that target

a fraction of the skin at a time. This is

analogous to a photographic image

being enhanced or altered pixel by pixel.

Fractional laser treatment has bridged

the gap between the ablative and non-

ablative laser techniques used to treat

sun-damaged and aging skin. While

ablative laser treatments work mainly on

the epidermis and non-ablative treatments

work solely on dermal collagen only,

fractional laser treatments work at both the epidermal and dermal layers of the

skin. There are now a number of machines available that use fractional technology,

Allow your inner siren to scream! This 4 evening intensive, hands on class is for the student who is considering developing

artistry skills into a Freelance and / or Professional Makeup Artist. This program will cover in-depth applications for modern

bridal makeup, glamour & evening, vintage & pinup, Indian / Bollywood makeup and fashion / runway applications. You

will leave feeling like you have conquered the artist from inside and will be up to speed on all the trends in the wedding and

fashion industries.

Models required day 2 and 4. Bring your enthusiasm, creativity and tools / kit from previous class.

This class contains a theory and practical exam.

Makeup Artistry Advanced Facials


Chemical Peeling – Level I $595


This 3 day class is designed for those previously certified

in Facials. The manual includes a review of the following:

bacteriology and sanitation, the skin’s structure and its

functions and skin type evaluations. Theory will include

a discussion on AHA’s and BHA’s used in skin care and

chemical exfoliation, contraindications, product knowledge

and extensive repetitive practical hands on training using a

professional chemical peel skin care line. Each student will

be given the option to receive a chemical peel on day 2 and

will require models with skin care concerns on day 3.

Take a ride in the Creative Director chair. This one day workshop is

designed for the Professional Makeup Artist to take the ropes in planning

and developing an upcoming photo shoot. From organizational skills to

leadership, you will be planning 3 weeks in advance to this workshop,

with Instructor Trena Olfert. Students will be coordinating vision and

inspiration boards and will be provided with 2 models to photograph.

On the day of the workshop, you will be prepping models, from hair

to makeup to styling, and crafting your final vision of look and feel.

Professional photography is provided by local fashion photographer

Jess Bobyn. Models will be photographed in “studio” and utilizing “urban

environment”. Digital copies of your work will be provided following the

workshop. Students will end class sharing their experiences with each

other and leave with a more solid skill and mindset. A great workshop

to develop your communication and creative skills.

Lay the foundation for an exciting career by specializing as a Permanent Makeup Artist. This intense 6 day course

will teach you the art of perfecting eyebrows, lip lines and eye contouring through precise filtration of colour pigments

into the skin. You will receive comprehensive theory and practical training that will give you the knowledge and skills

to become a successful Permanent Makeup Artist. The concept of Permanent Makeup can be traced back to early

Egypt. Cleopatra’s beauty was enhanced with the early techniques of bamboo sticks and red earth. Permanent Makeup

allows your clients to enhance their natural beauty and correct tiny imperfections without the recovery time of surgical

procedures. With the wide range of superior pigments from Germany, you will be taught advanced colour theory as well

as Dermatology of the skin, skin diseases and disorders and sanitation and sterilization protocols.

This intensive certified Facial course includes training in

bacteriology and sanitation, cell structure, muscle and

skeletal systems, skin histology and physiology, disorders

and diseases, skin type evaluations, extractions and

massage. Students will learn differentiating techniques

will include a basic deep pore cleansing facial with steam,

Students must achieve 70% on theory and 80% on the practical exam in order to receive

a certificate. Students will not be permitted to participate in the exam if quotas are not

• A rescheduling fee of $250 applies to any student who misses a class day(s) or needs to
