• School Counseling Program 2017/2018

Classroom Counseling Lessons • Grades K through 5th will receive a lesson each month based

on the needs of the students and the AACo. Essential Counseling Curriculum Small Group Counseling (Lunch Bunch) • Small groups will be held during lunch and recess periods once a week for 6 to 8 weeks • Small group topics will be based on the needs of the students and input from teachers and parents

(Topics include…anger management, study skills, divorce, family related issues, social skills, friendship, etc.)

• Small groups will begin in October • Parents may contact Mrs. Patterson directly to refer their child for a group

Watch D.O.G.S.

• Purpose is to bring positive male role models into the building to

provide security and support.

(Dads, stepdads, uncles, granddads, male guardians, etc…)

• Assignment is to volunteer at least one day or even part of a day

to perform tasks such as:

– monitoring the school entrance

– assisting with unloading and loading of buses and cars

– monitoring the lunch room

– most importantly helping in the classroom with the teacher’s

guidance by working with small groups on homework,

flashcards, and spelling to name a few
