“There is power in knowledge”. The older we get the more we realize how true this statement is. With this in mind, we will be offering several community events to enlighten us on several subjects. Just a few we are working on are: Power of Attorney for Health and Financial What exactly is this? Why is it so important? How do I go about getting this set up? What can happen if I don’t have a POA in place? Advanced Planning This seminar will help you bring up the subject of advanced planning with your loved ones. You will receive easy to follow suggestions and handouts to make your wishes known, or bring up the subject. Advanced planning can be the most loving and appreciated gift you can ever give your family. These are just 2 of the seminars we are working on. Are there any other subjects you would like to learn about? We would love to hear from you and we will do our best to set something up. Let me know be emailing me at [email protected] or stop in to talk next time you visit your loved one.

New Mailboxes!
We installed new LOCKED mailboxes for rent pay-
ments and for the salon. For rent checks, please put in
the mailbox behind the front counter labeled
‘Meghan’s Mailbox’. For the salon, there is a mailbox
right outside of the salon door for payments and notes
for Carrie.
Would you be interested in getting your monthly in-
voice EMAILED to you? If yes, when making your
next payment please indicate what email address you
would like the invoice sent to.
Thank you! Meghan

Snow Ball
On February 15th we held
our 5th Annual Snow Ball.
With the dining room all
decorated in snowflakes it is
a perfect time to have a
fancy dance. Everyone
dressed up so nice. The La-
dies were gorgeous and the
men were handsome. Connie
and Gary along with Micky
and Danielle came and put
on a great party. We had a
Photo Booth were we got to
dress up funny and get our
pictures taken. Gary was our
DJ and he was spinning
some great tunes. Thanks so
much for a fun night.

Olympics
Here at WSL we held our own Winter Olympics. On Monday
we had an Opening Ceremony featuring flags from 17 different
nations, the raising of the Olympic Flag and the lighting of the
cauldron with the Olympic Flame. We held our 5 Olympic
events: Snow Ball Toss, Distance Snow Toss, Biathlon, Ice
Cube Relay, and the Bobsled. Friday saw the end of the Olym-
pics when we had our Medal Ceremony and Closing Ceremony.
This included the extinguishing of the flame and the lowering
of the Olympic Flag. It was a fun filled week.

Well, we finished all 50 states and Washington DC. This year we will
start our travels abroad. The residents have requested that we continue our travels and see the
world. We started out in Russia, then went to Germany and Finland. Our next countries will be
Ireland– March 17-21, Spain-March 24-28, Poland-March 31-April 4, Switzerland-April 7-11,
Vatican City-April 14-18, England-April 21-25, France-April 28-May 2, Bulgaria-May 5-9,
Austria-May 12-16, Scotland-May 19-23.
In Russia we learned all about Matryoshka dolls (Russian Nesting Dolls) Amy collects them
and brought in a few for us to see. We watched a video on how they make them.
In Germany we got to hear some German music played by Dorothy on the accordion and John
on the drums. John even came in his lederhosen and sang the songs in German.
If you have traveled to any of the countries coming up and would like to talk about them
please let us know. We love to taste food from other countries and hear about them. Give
Cindy L a call and let her know what you can do for us. 262-534-4800.

On March 3rd we celebrated International Pancake Day. Our day started with a Pancake Breakfast. We had a Pan-cake Race where we had to flip the pancake in the skillet, walk the course and then end with another flip of the pan-cake. Next we had a pancake flipping contest to see who could flip it in the skillet the most times in 20 seconds. Af-ter that we had a Pancake Eating Contest. They had to see who could eat 1 pancake the fastest. The first one with an empty mouth was the winner. In the afternoon we had our English High Tea. We all had to wear our fancy hats (pictures on the previous page) and we had different teas and fancy cookies. This was followed by our Ecumenical Shrove Tuesday Service. Deacon Carl and his wife Marge came and did a lovely service to get us all in the mood for Lent. Thanks to Meghan and Shelly for helping out and to Zach and Jamie for making us all of the pancakes that we needed through out the day.
