Normally the water of the public aqueducts is carefully tested every day and does not contain pesticides, heavy metals or other dangerous elements.

Nevertheless the transportation through the pipes, pumping stations and tubings of the buildings can create problems of dirt (sand, rust and other impurities) and bacterial contamination. Bacteria develop the best between 25°C and 50°C.

To avoid bacterial contamination the water is disinfected.

The mostly used product is chlorine.

Aqualen® is based on a new generation chelating ion-exchange fibre adsorbent. Thanks to its special design it reacts with heavy metal ions 780 times better than with calcium and magnesium ions. This means that even very hard water does not obstruct of quicksilver, tin, copper and cadmium ions removal.

Dynamic recovery method of silver. Unique dynamic recovery method of silver is used in AQUAPHOR® filter mixes. Initially silver is bind in Aqualen® in the most active form, i.e. as ions. This enables the bacteriostatic efficiency of the filter to be increased and at the same time its silver content to be reduced.

Filtering efficiency. Ordinary carbon block has several disadvantages. As carbon is largely water-repellent, it creates channel effects and dead spaces. Due to this filter efficiency may fall down to 50%.

Crystal HF drinking water filter combines all the advantages of the regular Crystal filter plus it contains a 0.1 micron absolute rejection hollow fibre membrane post filter. It removes more than 99.99% of bacteria and cysts throughout its stated capacity satisfying the EPA microbiological device certification requirements.

The main advantage of this new patented hollow fibre post filter as compared to the other micro-filtration post filters is that it adds very low additional pressure resistance at the maximum stated flow rate throughout capacity while filtering even solid laden water. The hollow fibres are very hydrophilic and have a tremendous outer surface area. The fibres' outer diameter is less than 300 microns.
