As per DIN EN 23 270 standards, water resistant adhesive is dried under standard

atmospheric conditions at 23° and 50% relative humidity. Considering the fact that

dispersion contains coalescing agents the above values depend on the storage time of the

dispersion film.

Evostik Waterproof Wood Adhesive

This wonderful glue by Evo Stick, is suitable for all paper/wood type applications, itworks on chipboard, plywood, MDF sterlingboard, and any other material which is wood or paper based. It sticks like errr - glue. and does not take that long to dry (needs clamping or screwing while it does)



This is a modern chemical glue, in the old days it would be an animal glue, made from bits of horses and fish, this is not the case nowadays. It comes in the usual plastic squeezy type bottles, which are flat, this means they don't roll awayif you knock them over. The caps on these are not that good but you can stick a nail in the top.There are two types, waterproof, and non waterproof, personally I just ust the former, if I boughtboth types, one would go off on me as I do not use that much.

Prices - (as per B&Q) The waterproof version comes in at £4.18 for 250ml. the 500ml is £6.48,the one litre costs £9.47, and the massive 2.5 litre is just £15.97.

Now for the non waterproof type. This is available in just two suzes, 500ml is £5.78 and the fullone litre costs £8.47, as you can see the non waterproof is a little cheaper.

This glue makes a brilliant gap filler, you can even mix it with sawdust to fill cracks which do notshow up. When the glue has hardened, it can be sanded, filed, or even drilled, although youmust bear in mind that it will stop wood from taking stain, so remove exess. PVA glue is a very watered down version of this, so if you need to mix some with water for thekids, it is no problem. You must avoid getting this on clothes though. The Evo Stick is available at pretty much every DIY store nowadays, and very often at

Woolworths, Wilkinsons etc. It is a milky white liquid, which is ran between both surfaces, the materials are then broughttogether & clamped, or otherwise fixed together, any exess should be wiped off with a moist ragwhile still wet,. When dry, the join is perfect, and very strong. I recommend this product, as Itend to do with most of my reviews. Don't get me wrong, if I dislike something I will say so, but inmost cases I use what I like and this makes me feel qualified to do a review.

I do appreciate that this is a short review, but I don't believe in waxing lyrical just to fill a box with

things people do not wish to read.

Waterproof Adhesive

Among the various types of adhesives we can find the waterproof adhesives. What are these adhesives? As the name

says it, these are adhesives resistant to water. Until now, people had problems because of the water. This need lead

to the invention of these adhesives. Now, we use them everywhere in our homes. This adhesive can create a resistant

bond between numerous porous and less porous materials. This adhesive is mainly designed for severe service

applications. Made of a powdered catalyst and a liquid resin, the waterproof adhesive is im pervious to salt or water.

Also, it is immune to oil, grease and solvents or to high tem peratures. These things made the waterproof adhesive

very popular.
