Overview
The concept: We provide an alternative source of water by harvesting and treating groundwater and/or capturing and treating process water
Why Sustainable Cost savings and rate hedging Redundant water sources for business continuity

Recognized Standards
The following standards will be adhered to in both reuse and groundwater treatment: 10 States Standards for Potable Water EPA 2012 Guidelines for Water Reuse ILSI – Water Recovery and Reuse:
Guideline for Safe Application of Water Conservation Methods in Beverage Production and Food Processing

Water Reclamation Treatment Equalization
• Process wastewater will be pumped into an Equalization Tank where most of the solids will be ground up and removed;
• Depending on the makeup of the water, chemicals (chlorine for example) will be added before the effluent enters the aerobic treatment tank;
Water Reclamation Treatment Aerobic Digestion
Process wastewater treatment will consist of aerobic treatment using bacteria (activated sludge) oxygenated by blowers in the activation basin to degrade organic matter;
Microorganisms consume and remove the organics and nutrients from the water as solids;
During this process BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) is significantly lowered;
Water will be tested and monitored after this process;
Water Reclamation Treatment Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
From the Activation Basin, water will be pumped into the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), which is a common municipal wastewater treatment process;
MBR treatment will produce POTABLE water meeting all U.S. EPA standards that is suitable for most needs;
Water will be tested and monitored after this treatment;
Water Reclamation Treatment Polishing
Nanofiltration membranes will be used to further treat the water beyond potable primary and secondary standards;
This potable water can be discharged free of contaminants (no surcharges) or be recycled for a variety of uses in the facility;
Water will be tested and monitored after nanofiltration;
Water Reclamation Treatment Controls & Monitoring
Controls & monitoring systems will be installed for on- and off-site observation;
Reclaimed process water treatment will be tested at 5 different steps in the process;
Regular testing and third-party confirmation from EPA-certified labs shall be provided;
Water testing & monitoring will be more frequent and more stringent than by current provider;
Water Reclamation Treatment High Service Pumping
Water will be delivered on demand by a high-service pumping system;
Redundancy will be built in so that potable water can always be provided;
Variable Frequency Drive pumps (VFDs) will be installed to ensure peak demands are met and energy is conserved in off-peak times;
As with treated well water, treated effluent will be stored in a large clear-water underground tank for uses such as cooling, boiler make-up, steam, and cleaning;
Post-chlorination is provided to ensure water remains potable;
Water can be further adjusted and “customized” as needed;
