➢ Environmental Health: One Health's blind spot? (Sunita Narain, CSE)
➢ Improving access to medicine and other health technologies(Tenu Avafia, UNDP)
➢ WASH and AMR: the role of prevention (Maria Neira, WHO)

➢ Stepping up Responsibility in Antibiotic Production (Alba Tiley, Centrient)
Environmental Health: One Health's blind spot?
Sunita Narain, CSE
➢ 700,000 drug resistance related deaths a year. But, there are also 5.7 million deaths year from antibiotic treatable deaths. Both overuse of & access to antibiotics must be addressed
➢ Access to new generation diagnostics, vaccines and medicines is critical, as is appropriate stewardship
➢ How can multisectoral co-ordination strengthen health systems & bolster AMR responses?
Improving AMR related health technology innovation and access
Tenu Avafia, UNDP
➢ We know what needs to be done to prevent infections. Are we doing enough? How can we use AMR to accelerate progress?
In communities towards SDG6?
In health facilities?
Maria Neira, WHO
WASH and AMR: the role of prevention
➢ The knowledge about the significance of transmission of resistance among humans, animals and the environment is limited
➢ The Livestock sector is a major user of antibiotics globally
➢ Are there ways to keep livestock healthy and productive without antibiotics?
Animal health and the use of antibiotics
Ulf Magnusson, SLU
➢ Linking the human right to ‘safe’ drinking water with the human right to
sanitation & hygiene (WASH), & with prevention of infections (health)
➢ Human Rights-Based Approach: Transparency + Accountability +
Participation + Non-discrimination
➢ Can the (anthropocentric) human rights-based approach be
the antidote to responsibility issues around AMR?
Jenny Grönwall, SIWI
