My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis, my mother’s closest friend just

died from brain tumor, my cousin’s daughter has diabetes, my father

suffered from pancreatic cancer, my brother has never been able to

read a book, a colleague had a nervous break-down, three women I

know have multiple sclerosis. Thomas has Parkinson. This is where

the resources must last.

I believe I am above base line. I am lucky. These health things have

never impeded on my full and rich life. On the contrary. But what is

the base line here, and how should we take care of this in the

future when possibilities are endless and resources are scarce?

We confuse motion with action, as someone said. Abundance and

scarcity tells us we must find common ways of agreeing on base line

and novel ways of positioning. And action.
