Amy Leung, Deputy Director General, East Asia Department, Asian Development Bank Amy S. P. Leung is Deputy Director General of ADB’s East Asia Department covering ADB’s operation in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia. Prior to her current position, she was Director of Southeast Asia Urban Development and Water Division and of East Asia Urban and Social Sectors Division where she was in-charge of loan and grant portfolio for urban development, water supply and sanitation, education, health and social protection. She was former Chair of ADB’s Water Community of Practice which undertakes peer reviews of water projects, promotes knowledge management and capacity building and facilitates partnerships and regional cooperation. Amy has over 20 years of experience in managing multi-stakeholder and multi-disciplinary projects in Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, PRC, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Mongolia. She is as an urban planner with expertise in urban development, water resources management, project design and monitoring, and public-private partnerships.

Adam Read, Waste Management Practice Director, Ricardo Energy & Environment Adam is Practice Director for Resource Efficiency & Waste Management at Ricardo Energy & Environment with a team of 60+ consultants. He has 21 years’ of waste sector experience, specialising in policy development, strategic decision-making, consultation, procurement and training. He has been a municipal waste officer, researcher and consultant and is a chartered waste manager who was awarded an honorary professorship at Northampton University for his contribution to waste management research education and training in 2002. He has spent the last 2 decades working internationally on institutional capacity building, city and regional waste strategies, technology selection and infrastructure delivery

Vijay Padmanabhan, Technical Advisor (Urban), Asian Development Bank Vijay leads the technical and knowledge support for the urban and water Sector Groups in the Asian Development Bank. With 20 years of professional experience, Vijay has led multi-sector teams in designing and delivering large, complex projects on urban development, water and sanitation across several countries in the Asia-Pacific Region. In addition to supporting the strategic development of the urban and water sectors at the ADB, Vijay has overseen enterprise resource planning for urban local bodies; structuring and financially closing integrated urban services projects, private sector projects and infrastructure bonds in the water and sanitation sector; implementing integrated urban services projects; and structuring and implementing emergency and disaster assistance projects. Vijay is an Engineer and Urban Planner with experience working in India, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Sri Lanka.

Ron Slangen, Urban Development Specialist, South Asia Department, ADB Ron H. Slangen is an Urban Development Specialist at ADB. He has over 14 years of professional urban development experience in the US and Asia. He is currently team leader for a technical assistance to the Government of India, Ministry of Urban Development on solid waste management as part of ADB’s support to the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) national program in Urban Areas. Mr. Slangen is outposted to ADB’s India Resident Mission in New Delhi. He previously worked for the Climate Change Task Force in New York City, and holds an MS degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University.

Suzanne Robertson, Natural Resources and Agriculture Specialist, East Asia Department, ADB Suzanne K. Robertson is Natural Resources and Agriculture Specialist of ADB's East Asia Department. She has over 12 years of experience in the agriculture, forestry and natural resources sectors in Asia and the Pacific regions where she has worked on strategic programming for sector development as well as project development and administration. In her current position she works on the preparation and implementation of investment and technical assistance projects in People's Republic of China (PRC) and Mongolia. Ms. Robertson is managing activities ranging from agriculture production systems, value chain development, sustainable utilization of farmland and resource, climate smart agriculture, agroforestry and sustainable forest management. These projects showcase improved land use practices including land rehabilitation and conservation, agriculture and forestry product utilization and waste recycling, as

well as addressing impacts from climate change. Prior to joining ADB Ms. Robertson has worked in academia and for NGOs where in the field of sustainable agriculture and forestry production systems, climate change, natural resources management and sustainable livelihood's. David Margonsztern, Senior Urban Development Specialist (Transport), Central West Asia Department, ADB David is an urban planner specialized in urban transport, with a BSc in Political Science and a MSc in Urban Planning and Management. A national of France, he's been working in development in Asia for more than 15 years. In ADB, he was with the Urban and Water Development Division of the South Asia Department for almost 4 years, where he delivered and led sustainable urban transport projects in Nepal, Bangladesh and India. He then joined the Urban and Water Development Division of the Central and West Asia Department in 2013, where he develops the urban transport portfolio, notably in Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He is also an active member of ADB’s Transport Community of Practice. Prior to joining ADB, he was working in Vietnam as a Director in Ho Chi Minh City's Urban Development Management Support Center, where he defined and delivered institutional support on public transport, urban planning and urban design. He also worked as Director in Institute of Urban Matters in Hanoi, where he was in charge of conceiving, launching and directing cooperation program in the field of urban planning and public transport.

Umer Afzal Siddiqui, Assistant Director, Government of Sindh, Pakistan Mr. Umer Afzal Siddiqui is a financial expert and project developer, working for Government of Sindh in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit, Finance Department. He has been involved in handling the Pakistan’s first PPP Project and since then leading all the infrastructure and energy projects under PPP mode for Government of Sindh. As part of his achievements, he has successfully implemented “Hyderabad Mirpurkhas Dual Carriageway Project”, “Jhirk Mullah Katiyar Bridge Project” and “Karachi Thatta Dual Carriageway Project”. He is currently working on various waste-to-energy initiatives in the province of Sindh, including Khairpur Waste-to-Power project and Karachi Waste-to-Energy project.

Sung-sik Moon, Director General, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) Dr. Moon has been working at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) for 23 years. KEITI is a semi-government agency whose missions are to facilitate environmental R&D, certify environmental technology and eco-

products, nurture environmental Industry, distribute eco-friendly business models, promote environmental health and safety, and cooperate with international organizations and other countries. He served as a Director General of the Department of Environmental Industry Support at the KEITI; one of his main work areas was to facilitate international cooperation for environmental industries. Now, Dr. Moon is in charge of the Environmental Policy Cooperation Department. The Department is aimed at collaborating with MDBs for climate change and environmental industry sectors and climate friendly and innovative business models. Dr. Moon holds an PhD in Economics from Jungang University(R.O.K), a MBA from Aston University(U.K), a M.A. in clinical pharmacology from Sungkyunkwan University(R.O.K), and a B.A in industrial psychology from Sungkyunkwan University(R.O.K). Mark Broomfield Air Quality, Health and Environment Knowledge Leader, Ricardo Energy & Environment Mark Broomfield has 24 years’ experience as an air quality, odour and health impacts specialist with a degree in chemistry from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in atmospheric chemistry. Mark has particular expertise in sustainability, environmental and health issues associated with waste to energy strategies and projects. He has carried out strategic research on waste to energy and landfill in support of policy development, and worked on numerous waste to energy projects, on behalf of developers, regulatory authorities and investors. He is in demand as an expert witness and speaker on air quality, health and odour control issues.

Rafal Lewicki, Director, Enviraf Dr. Rafal Lewicki, the director of an independent consulting firm Enviraf Ltd, has over 25 years’ experience in the waste management and renewable energy - equipment design, biogas collection, treatment and utilisation systems. Involved in development, implementation and operation of the Kyoto Protocol projects around the world. Participated in numerous studies and review of guidelines and research and development projects for professional organizations and governmental bodies. Co-author and lecturer of a training course on Practical Management and Control of Landfill Gas for the UK Chartered Institute of Wastes Management. Participated in numerous national and international conferences, including Sardinia Waste Symposium.

Phil White, Waste Treatment Technology and Due Diligence Business Manager, Ricardo Energy & Environment Phil is a Chartered Waste Manager with 20 years' experience in the environment sector, including 17 years in waste regulation, policy and consultancy. Phil is Ricardo Energy & Environment’s Business Area Manager for thermal and biological waste treatment technologies, technical and market due diligence, and expert witness services. Recent projects include WtE technology fore-sighting for municipalities; mechanical biological treatment (MBT) performance expert advice; anaerobic digestion (AD) feasibility and investor due diligence; refuse derived fuel (RDF) quality and export; incinerator bottom ash (IBA) quality and recovery markets; and market due diligence for market entrants seeking to fund and develop advanced thermal treatment infrastructure.

Florian Strippel, Consultant, Department of Waste, Fertilization and Hygiene, German Biogas Association Florian Strippel studied “Management of renewable energies” at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf near Munich. During his studies he got in touch with the German Biogas Association in 2013. By the support of the Association he wrote his bachelor thesis about marketing opportunities for electricity produced by biogas plants without the financial support by the German renewable energy act. After his Bachelor thesis Florian Strippel began the Master´s program “Businessmanagement & Entrepreneurship Renewable Energy” and started to work for the German Biogas Association for the Department of Waste, Fertilisation and Hygiene. At the moment he is doing his Masters degree beside his work about economic possibilities for biogas plants in the framework of the new German renewable energy act.

Alban Casimir, Managing Director, WHEIG Alban is a project developer with over 10 years’ experience in the fields of biomass and waste to energy. Alban is mostly specialized in semi-dry fermentation, Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT), landfill gas to energy (LFGTE) and carbon footprint. He has sourced and developed numerous projects in most of the ASEAN countries. He is also spoken in several major international conferences with the United Nations, the European Union…as well as for NGOs. Alban is currently Group Director Asia and Pacific for Wheig with projects under construction in Thailand and New Caledonia.

Jürgen von Kories, Owner, Von Kories Consultants Jürgen von Kories is a chemical engineer who can count on more than 25 years of professional experience in the international waste and energy business. Starting with the heavy metal removal from flue gas scrubbing solutions from WtE facilities, he then designed waste gasification units, accumulated operational experiences of WtE facilities while working for a power utility which had developed the WtE operation to one of its core businesses and while being head of contracting of waste management company in Germany. He is now running his own consultancy and advises public and private clients in all waste and WtE related aspects.

Heinrich Seul, Managing Director, CBE Heinrich Seul, is a seasoned infrastructure planner graduated from Kassel University, Germany 1988. He started his engineering career in the Worldbank's Polonoroeste Project in the Brazilian Amazon and subsequently worked for governments in Germany, Brazil and Ghana to reduce negative impacts of hydropower, mining, logging, rail and road projects. In Germany he designed an EU cofinanced groundwater protection program for the leading water utilities OOWV, Harzwasserwerke and Hamburg Water and ran it for 10 years. Since 2001 he consulted on waste-to-clean-energy to governments in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar and cooperated with corporations like Hyundai, Itochu, Loxley and ThyssenKrupp.

Henrik Selstam, CEO, Waste4Fuel Business development and senior advisor. Master of Science in Engineering Physics at Chalmers, Sweden and several years of experience in setting up international organizations. With a background in the IT industry he established a small venture capital business investing in high-tech solutions in energy and fertilizing technology. The last 15 years he has been working very closely with Mr Fareid developing several industrial chemistry projects world-wide. Henrik’s function in Waste4Fuel is business development and marketing.

Timothy Fill, Principal Consultant and Business Area Manager, PPA Energy, Ricardo Energy & Environment Tim is a civil engineer and chartered waste manager and has worked for 19 years in the engineering and environmental sectors. Tim manages Ricardo Energy & Environment’s Power Sector Transaction Advisory Team and is working on projects in Honduras, Sierra Leone and Vanuatu. He has worked on more than 30 WtE projects in Australia, Canada, Poland, the Middle East, South Africa and the UK for municipalities and private developers. To deliver the complex biological and thermal treatment infrastructure many of these projects included private sector participation. Tim has also undertaken due diligence of infrastructure and the power purchase agreements for operational incineration facilities, mechanical biological treatment facilities and landfill gas utilization portfolios.

Hubert de Chefdebien, Director of Public Affairs, CNIM Hubert graduated as an engineer, followed by years of practical experience in the field of Environment in the following roles/areas: Seawater desalination, then Waste-to-Energy and of the Recovery of Waste: Research & Development, Process engineer, Project designer, then Project manager, Sales department, Public affairs for Environment activity. Today he is Director of Public Affairs at CNIM, a major actor in the field of design and build of turn-key Energy-from-Waste plants, sorting plants and composting plants. CNIM acts also an operator. As such, they are in close contact with opinion makers: civil servants, elected representatives, scientists, mass media and environmental associations.

Loh Ah Tuan, Consultant, Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore Loh Ah Tuan joined Singapore Ministry of the Environment in 1972, retiring in 2007. He served as Director-General and Deputy CEO of the National Environment Agency and held portfolios in environmental planning, pollution control and solid waste management. He was involved in many notable environmental projects. For his role in the cleaning of Singapore River, Ah Tuan was among 10 Singaporeans awarded a Gold Medal by then Singapore Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Ah Tuan is currently a Consultant in Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore Ltd and a member of the expert panel in Singapore Centre for Liveable Cities.

Ken Willis, Vice President, Strategic Alliances & Business Development Ken is a former Executive Vice President for ENMAX Corporation, and has an extensive background in the Canadian electricity sector. His 35 years of work experience includes engineering, business development, financial planning, regulatory compliance and many other aspects of the energy industry. He has been with Alter NRG Corp. for 8 years. Ken has cultivated a deep portfolio of strong relationships with industry participants, regulatory agencies, municipal leaders and government representatives. Ken is a Professional Engineer with an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a MBA (Finance) from the University of Calgary.

Kwang Soo Kim, Senior Manager of Renewable Energy Business, KDHC Mr. Kim drives district heating since 2004 in KDHC. He experienced 515MW CHP(combined heat and power) for construction and maintenance for 5 years. He also had time to manage branch offices’ I & C(instrument & control) department at head office. He manages renewable energy business related district heating and develops business utilized wasted energy sources. He has presentation in other counties to show renewable business models.

Ken B. Lee, President, New East Advisors Ltd.,Canada Mr. Ken Beck Lee is a President of New East Advisors Ltd., Canada. He is a Fellow Engineer of Canada and diversified engineering and business experience. His career was started as a developer of municipal infrastructure modelling software after self -learning computer programming with 8k RAM IBM 1130. Since then he has worked on storm-water and solid waste management, and value engineering. He has written several guidelines for Canadian and Korean Governments on Sustainable Infrastructure Management, Storm-water Management, Solid Waste Management, Value Engineering, Infrastructure Design and Construction Procurement. Since 2002, he has been a team leader of UNFCCC expert roaster and has carried about 100 UNFCCC assignments. He has also been retained by World Bank and ADB for infrastructure management and climate change mitigation related assignment.

Jingmin Huang, Principal Urban Development Specialist, South Asia Department, ADB Dr. Huang has twenty-five-year experience in the fields of urban planning, water, solid waste management and project development. She is leading several urban loans and TAs processing and implementation in South Asia. Previously, she worked in SDCC, responsible for ADB urban initiatives including ADB's sanitation and wastewater management revolution, the green city initiative, the smart city initiative and the solid waste management sector. Prior to joining ADB, she was a lecturer at Oxford University, UK. She holds a PhD degree from the Oxford University, and two bachelor degrees from Tianjin University, PRC.

Ashok Bhargava, Director, Energy Division, East Asia Department, ADB As Director of Energy Division in the East Asia Department, Ashok Bhargava oversees energy sector operations in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Mongolia. He is an Electrical Engineer with Masters in Business Administration and has more than 32 years of energy sector experience in the region. He specializes in the PRC energy sector, where he has extensive experience of past more than 12 years. His direct ADB projects’ experiences include innovative first-of-kind low-carbon technology projects such as Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC), concentrated solar power (CSP), carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS), shale gas and distributed renewable energy. As team leader, he has processed PRC’s first multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) in 2006 and its first IGCC power plant in 2010. He was awarded Dunhuang award, the highest award to a foreign national by Gansu Province in 2008 for highly successful processing and implementation of renewable energy projects in the province. Currently, he is also the co-chair of the Energy Community of Practice that provides leadership and guidance to the ADB energy sector operations. He is representing ADB in the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, Global CCS Institute, and Clean Energy Ministerial CCUS working group. He is an Australian national. Prior to joining ADB, he has worked with a large infrastructure consulting firm and a multinational power company in Australia, and a public sector generation utility in India and Canada.
