YOUR WASTE
Municipal Waste streams are similar everywhere: inert materials, calorific materials (organics, paper, plastics, wood…) and water. Rather than putting everything through an INCINERATOR or on a landfill site, this proposal makes the best of it. WASTE is an asset for society, if treated in a clever way. WASTE REFINERY & GENCOAL puts the cost of waste treatment in an economic and an ecological perspective. We have a responsibility to make the best of what we called waste. It is better to see it as useful materials.
OUR PROCESS
The fresh waste stream is pushed through the WASTE REFINERY and turned completely into useful new end products: • Approx. 50 % (of the dry solid mass) becomes GENCOAL, a fuel comparable to coal. • Approx. 50 % of the total (dry solid) mass goes back to the market as raw materials. The water is used as process water, rather than being evaporated. The process is a WET SEPARATION LINE that includes cleaning the waste and separating the recyclable/ recoverable materials. Then ‘grinding’ and if needed, custom-made enhancement of the calorific value by using additives. Finally the GENCOAL can be pressed/pelletized to the wish of the end user.
YOUR NEW PRODUCTS
• New raw materials out of solid waste: ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, sand and gravel/stone/glass find a direct way to the open market, as they are clean and ready for transport.
• The energetic end product, GENCOAL (= generated coal) has similar calorific value as hard coal and has a similar market value. By mixing with additives it can be adjusted for all existing combus- tion installations. GENCOAL is most suited for co-firing in city heating or electricity generation, but also for all other industrial and semi – industrial burners equipped with gas washing installations.

• Clean end products, with a higher market value. • Less leaching as little oxidation occurs. • Low energy need: no waste of energy in evaporation of water of heating of inert materials. • A maximum amount of metals can be recycled. • The size of the installation can be designed as desired by the client’s needs.
WASTE REFINERY & GENCOAL is the new and sustainable way to treat and valorise mixed waste streams. The first installations in Europe are ‘under development’ in Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland,... The big secret is that WASTE REFINERY & GENCOAL is an application of reliable technology from the coal mining sector. We have developed a new WET SEPARATION line, that does the job better than any other waste treatment process. Our people have over 30 years of hands on experience worldwide.

• An investment cost of 10 % of a waste incinerator, making use of solid proven technology.
• A cost per ton of approx. € 35, without the sale of the materials and the GENCOAL.

Example: WASTE REFINERY designed for the Karvina Region in Czech Republic in 2014. • Capacity: 80,000 ton per annum or 20 ton per hour.
Gate fee similar to landfill. • Investment cost: €7.000.000. • Cost of process per ton: €35. • Cost after sales of materials and GENCOAL: €20/ton. • Installation can run a yearly profit of €2.000.000. • Payback time between 2 and 3 years!
