EMRC Waste Education Program

EMRC Waste Education Officers provide free tours of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility, as well as fun activities at the Red Hill Environmental Education Centre. Officers provide information, waste education talks, courses and workshops for regional schools and community groups. EMRC’s Waste Education team coordinate the region’s battery and fluorescent light collection program for schools and public places.

Bulk Verge Collections & Drop Off Mornings

Bulk waste and greenwaste verge collections occur once each per year. Your service area is shown on the map, and the approximate set-out dates are listed in the table below.

Please note: The Town of Bassendean greatly values its street verge trees. Pruning, damaging or vandalising a street verge tree is illegal and offenders will be prosecuted.

HHW can be safely disposed of for free at the Red Hill Waste Management Facility. Up to 20kg/L per material type. No commercial quantities. Each property that pays for a waste service in the Town of Bassendean is entitled to four (4) tip passes each financial year.

Each tip pass entitles the owner to dispose of up to half a tonne of waste equal to 1.8m x 1.2m trailer or ute.
