The new FOGO bin (lime green lid) is for Food Organics and Garden Organics only. The FOGO bin is collected weekly, with the general waste (red lid) and recycling (yellow lid) collected fortnightly.
Call 9350 7195 to request the Guide in larger print or to report a damaged or missing bin.

EMRC Waste Education Program
EMRC Waste Education Officers provide free tours of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility, as well as fun activities at the Red Hill Environmental Education Centre. Officers provide information, waste education talks, courses and workshops for regional schools and community groups. EMRC’s Waste Education team coordinate the region’s battery and fluorescent light collection program for schools and public places.

Bulk waste and greenwaste verge collections occur once each per year. Your service area is shown on the map, and the approximate set-out dates are listed in the table below.

Place your waste on the verge only on the two weekend days indicated for your area. Placing items on the verge at other times may result in aninfringement.
Collections will start at 7:00am on the Monday following your weekend set-out dates. See the next page for verge collection guidelines.
Maximum of two cubic metres per verge collection (equals two 1.8m x 1.2m trailer loads)
Please note: The Town of Bassendean greatly values its street verge trees. Pruning, damaging or vandalising a street verge tree is illegal and offenders will be prosecuted.

Some every day household products are classed as Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). These items must not be placed in any bins. HHW can be safely disposed of for free at the Red Hill Waste Management Facility. Up to 20kg/L per material type. No commercial quantities. Each property that pays for a waste service in the Town of Bassendean is entitled to four (4) tip passes each financial year.
Each tip pass entitles the owner to dispose of up to half a tonne of waste equal to 1.8m x 1.2m trailer or ute.
