Standard Top Down Clamps
The WEEBs used for bonding PV modules to the mounting rails are compatible with various cross-sections of module frames. The following are examples of module frames that are compatible. Notice that the WEEB teeth are positioned completely under the edge of the module frame.

The following is an example of a module frame that is incompatible with theWEEB-DPF. Lipped solar modules mounted with inverted U-shaped clamps do not have enough clearance to fit the WEEB-DPF.

Important Note: Inspect each module frame used with a WEEB to ensure that the bottom mounting face of the frame is flat, and that there are no hinderances to embedding WEEB teeth. Do not use a module with a frame that preventsthe WEEB teeth from embedding fully.

WEEB-DPF and Boxed Module Frames
Certain module frames do not have enough structural strength to withstandthe force required to embed a WEEB. These frames will deform and thereforenot allow sufficient penetration of the WEEB teeth. The general requirementsfor minimum module frame thickness of "boxed" type module frames areillustrated below.

Use WEEBL-8.0 to connect system to equipment ground conductor.
Use WEEB-DPF to bond module frames to the mounting rail.

Use WEEB-WMC to bond ballast trays and spacer bars to module mounting rail.
Use the WEEB-WMC to bond ballast tray to mounting rail.
Use the WEEB-WMC to bond spacer bar to mounting rail.

Ballast Trays and Spacer Bars
Use one WEEB-WMC between each ballast tray and mounting rail. Use at least one WMC to bond each spacer bar to the mounting rail. Multiple WEEBs may need to be used on a spacer bar to create a bond across a rail splice, or to bond each row of rails.

Important Note: A large flat washer must be used under every flange nut that secures a WEEB-WMC to the mounting rail. The washer must be at least 0.080" thick and wide enough to cover the WEEB teeth.
Each East-West row of railsmust be bonded to the rows North and South of it.Requires at least two WEEBs per spacer bar.
Each rail splice must bebonded with two WEEBs.
Each spacer bar mustbe bonded to at leastone mounting rail with at least one WEEB.

Assemble end clamp tomanufacturer's specifications.
Slightly lift solar module andslide the teeth of the WEEB-DPFunder the module. The edge of theWEEB will automatically align whenboth modules are correctly installed.

Pre-assemble WEEB-DPF to mid-clamp as shown. Pre-assembling WEEB-DPF will contain the small individual parts, reducing the possibility of losing parts during installation.
When position of solar modules is finalized, tighten fasteners to at least 15 ft-lb / 20.5 N-m, using general purpose anti-seize on threads.
Assemble end clamp tomanufacturer's specification.

Important note:WEEBs are for SINGLE USE ONLY! Do not torque fasteners down if position of solar modules is not finalized. Only slightly tighten fasteners to keep modules in place.
