TITLE: Club Mathematica

ORGINATOR: Surritt/ Henry Administration

SPONSOR: Allocations Committee

STATUS: Allocations Committee –Favorable

WHEREAS: Club Mathematica is requesting funding for fall meetings, and

WHEREAS: Club Mathematica has fully complied with all applicable funding policies to this point in the allocation process, and

WHEREAS: Club Mathematica is recognized by the Student Activities and Greek Life Office as a registered student group of Washburn University, and

WHEREAS: registered student organizations are eligible to receive WSGA funds.

THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED:

SECTION ONE: The Washburn Student Government Association shall allocate an amount not to exceed $450.00 from the Student Organizations account for funding for fall meetings.

SECTION TWO: This legislation shall become effective upon passage.

SB 18-19 #013

TITLE: Constituency Committee ORIGINATOR: Surritt/Henry AdministrationSPONSOR: Surritt/Henry Administration, Speaker Pro Tempore SolidaySTATUS: Favorable

WHEREAS: The Washburn Student Government Association (WSGA) is dedicated to the equal representation of all Washburn students, and

WHEREAS: Currently the WSGA Legislative branch is comprised of elected and nominated students in an at-large basis, and

WHEREAS: WSGA shall create an ad-hoc constituency committee to determine if a constituency program would be beneficial to WSGA and how it would be implemented.

THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED:

SECTION ONE: The Surritt/Henry Administration shall establish a committee, composed of Senators and Executive Staff and Administrative Assistant and general students, to review and propose updates to the membership and makeup of WSGA.

SECTION TWO: This committee shall be chaired by Speaker Pro Tempore Soliday.

SECTION THREE: The findings of this committee will be presented to the Senate when necessary changes are voted on in the committee, at which time the Senate may take appropriate action with the findings.

SECTION FOUR: This legislation shall become effective upon passage.

TITLE: Constitutional/By-Law Review Committee ORIGINATOR: Surritt/Henry AdministrationSPONSOR: Surritt/Henry AdministrationSTATUS: Internal Affairs - Favorable

WHEREAS: The Constitution and By-Laws of Washburn Student Government Association (WSGA) are the governing documents of the organization, and

WHEREAS: It is the duty of WSGA to periodically review and update the Constitution to current practices, and

WHEREAS: A committee composed of current members would be best suited to update the Constitution and By-Laws.

THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED:

SECTION ONE: The Surritt/Henry Administration shall establish a committee, composed of four Senators and three Executive Staff and the Administrative Assistant, to review and propose updates to the Constitution and By-Laws of WSGA.

SECTION TWO: This committee shall be chaired by President Surritt.

SECTION THREE: This committee shall be vice-chaired by the administrative Assistant

SECTION FOUR: The findings of this committee will be presented to the Senate when necessary changes are voted on in the committee, at which time the Senate may take appropriate action with the findings.
