Dec. 7, 1906.—David Dahjin is over to E. Jorgenson's grinding feed. John and Martin Grim have gone to New Maine to chop wood. Better watch out, boys, or you'll freeze your ears off. H. Dahlin, E. Jorgenson, and H. Grim are hauling cord-wood from "New Maine. Better watch out Henry or you'll tip again. Mrs. Georgia Wang, has left for Grand Forks from where she will ac- company her niece to St. Paul, where she is going for treatment. Johnie Hanson, Christ Hanson, Oust Hanson, Ole Jorgenson, George and H. Jorgenson departed for the woods to spend a happy winter with the popples and their axes. We wish you good luck and lots to eat. The boys spent a happy evening over to Elling J orgenson shortly before lsav- ing. Anton Brant is going to spend the winter at Ole Dahlin's. Better watch out or "wedding bells" will soon ring in Town of Alma. Christinas is coming and everybody is looking for lut-fisk and lefse. Carl Grim smiles all over now-a- days. No wonder, he is spending the winter at Elling Jorgenson's. FOLDAHL. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Houg, have been visiting friends and relatives here. Last Thursday they went to Karstad to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. Heistad, before leav- ing for their new home in Canada. Mrs. John Johnson has returned home from her visit with her daugnter, Mrs. G. Swenson, at New Folden. The young folks of the A. Johnson, A. Bergstrom, and J. Johnson fami- lies, were at Mr. Gillund's Saturday evening to help Adolph and Severin Gillund to celebrate their birthdays. Had a very good time. . - ^Arthur Miller and Carl Nelson, from Worth Dakota, who have been staying at Gillund's for some time, left for Canada last Tuesday. Supt. L. M. Mithun visited school in district No. 12, in Foldahl. Misses Clara and Effie Skoglund were at Mr. Melin's last Sunday. Wedding bells are soon to ring in the northern part of West Valley. Ezra and Theresia Holmlund visit- ed at Nelson Park Sunday and were caught in the snow strom. Preparations are made for a child- ren's festival to be held at the church in Lincoln at Christmas. HUNTS V1LLE. Winter has come at last and the snow is flying fast. ' Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Syverson and Miss Anna Gustafson were pleasant visitors at S. O. Hoff's on Sunday. Ole C. Brenna depaited last week for his old home near TJlen, Clay Co., to visit relatives and friends, s Kettil Solum is working for Ole Brenna at present doing a little of everything. There was a basket party at the re- sidence of S. O. Syverson Thanks- giving evening. It was well attend- ed, and from a financial point of view was a success. The proceeds are to be used for a Norwegian school. Our school in District No. 102, is progressing nicely under the manage- ment of our efficient teacher, Miss Anna Gustafson. The attendance has been rather small thus far owing to bad weather. Among those from Strathcona who attended the basket social here Thanksgiing, were Emil Olsonj Peter and Gilbert Beito and John Skjordal. Martin B. Hendrickson is up here from Ulen, Clay county, on a visit with friends. Martin is the same jolly fellow he always J^as been. Andrew TJnderdahl made a flying trip to Alma latt week.
