You are Pack 250, Volunteering is Appreciated!

1

So just like you, our volunteers have full time jobs, families and other commitments. Without your support, Pack 250 does not exist. Our best events in past years were those where we had help; running a bake sale, making phone calls, cleaning up, gathering supplies, assembling the pinewood derby

We work hard and we’re staffed and run entirely by volunteers.

2

track…you all get the idea. So we’d kindly suggest that you’d help out your scout and our organization stay strong and VOLUNTEER! You do not need to be a registered, uniformed adult to volunteer. We need every family to volunteer to help with one event, or with a registered, trained position.

3

Our scouts are this age only once. We want to do our best, so our Scouts can do their best. Please sign-up to volunteer today! Sign-ups are at the September Pack meeting or by contacting our committee chair Victoria Landers at [email protected].

1

Scouts earn their awards (Tiger, Wolf or Bear) at home with their parents. All requirements are listed in their handbooks. The standard for completing a requirement is, a Scout does his best. As a parent, only you can judge when he has done his best on a requirement. When a Scout completes a requirement, their parent signs in the handbook. Please bring the

handbook to the next Den meeting where a Den Leader’s Assistant will record each scouts progress.

Some requirements will be completed in the Den meetings. Ask your Den Leader which requirements they will be covering. If your Scout misses a particular Den meeting, you will need to complete the missed work at home.

3

If you need help with any of the advancement requirements, let us know. If you scan through the requirements and find some that are particularly difficult, let the Den Leader know and see if they can work it into their plans for the year.

Tiger Cub Den Information For those of you starting out, a few points of clarification. The "Pack" is the overall group for the Cub Scouts at Fitzgerald, Northeast and St. Jude schools. (1st through 5th grade). We are Pack 250. A "Den" is a subset of the pack. Multiple dens make up the pack. Dens meet multiple times per month and then the whole Pack meets at least once a month on a Friday Night. We also have extra activities that may fall on weekends like the Fishing Derby and Campouts (These will be reflected on the calendar). We are the "TIGER CUB" den which is a basically the 1st graders. While your child will be in the Tiger den he still needs to earn his Bobcat Badge. We will help in that regard. All new scouts also need to earn their Bobcat badge. This is the first badge you can earn (not reflected in chart below). We will guide your child toward this as well and they can work on those requirements in parallel to working on their Tiger badge.
