Designed for results. Degrees are granted based on competency demonstration, not time spent in the courseroom.

Self-paced. Learners work at their own pace, moving quickly when they can or more slowly as needed. They can take as many classes as they like each quarter for a flat-rate. (limit 2 courses concurrently).

Assessment-focused. Each course includes a series of assessments designed around specific skills required for workplace success, allowing you to apply your learning to real-life situations.

Accelerated. Learners with prior learning and experience can demonstrate their competencies—and complete their degrees sooner.

Greater Flexibility for Learners

• No required weekly discussions

• No specific due dates for assignments

• Learners complete a series of competency-based assignments/ assessments over a 12-week term

Focused on competencies

• When learners feel they’ve mastered course competencies,

they can complete the assignments/assessments to demonstrate those competencies

• Assessments are authentic—they measure skills and knowledge as they’ll be used in the workplace

• Instructors, who are both academics and professionals in their fields, evaluate assessments and provide detailed feedback.

Multiple learning resources

• FlexPath recognizes learners’ knowledge and skills, regardless of how they learn them

• Learners draw on any materials and resources they choose, including textbooks, e-books, simulations, videos, articles, work experiences, and more

• Resources are recommended and provided, but purchasing books/ materials is not required

Transcripts

Official FlexPath transcripts will be competency-based and will display performance results (grade description) for each competency in the program.

A course-based transcript, with letter grades, credits earned, cumulative statistics, and a GPA will be available to learners upon their request (for learners getting employer reimbursement or needing to transfer out of CU).
