DININGWall & Grand residents may purchase a traditional dining plan or The Block-20 Plan. Traditional dining plans and The Block-20 Plan may be used to purchase meals in any of the dining halls or express areas. Menus are available online or by calling 453-DINE. TRADITIONAL DINING PLANS• Students may select one of three plans offering either 12, 15 or 19 meals per week. • The dining halls are all-you-care-to-eat, with one meal deducted from your account each time you

enter a dining hall. Unused meals do not roll over.• At the express areas, a meal will be deducted for every 10 points of product that you purchase.• Purchase a traditional plan by contacting the Contracts Office in Washington Square D at

618/453-2301.

THE BLOCK-20 PLAN• The Block-20 Plan is $170 and equivalent to 20 meals in University Housing dining halls.• The plan is valid in dining halls and express areas.• The dining halls are all-you-care-to-eat, with one meal deducted from your account each time you enter the dining hall. At the express areas, a meal will be

deducted for every 10 points of product. Your balance rolls over until the last meal is served for the summer, at which time any balance is forfeited.• More than one Block-20 Plan may be purchased at a time and additional blocks may be purchased throughout the semester.• There are no refunds for cancellations.• You may purchase The Block-20 Plan online at www.housing.siu.edu.

GETTING YOUR COMPUTER READYBEFORE YOU ARRIVEIf You Have a Microsoft Windows PCStep 1: Download all Critical Updates from Microsoft, Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then

Windows Updates.

Step 2: Download, install, and run Microsoft Windows Defender from www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software to remove spyware and malware on your computer.

Step 3: Download, install, and run Ad-Aware and Spybot to protect against spyware and malware (free for personal use).

SMOKING POLICYSmoking is not permitted within any University facility or within 25 feet of any University building. This means that smoking is not permitted in your apartment or on your balcony/patio.

ID CARD OFFICE HOURSThe ID Card Office in the Student Center is open Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The ID Card Office will be closed on Monday, January 16 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
