Students also focused on the vocabulary in the text, which will help them to understand the details that support the gist. We used the text to then answer text-dependent questions and took our end of Unit Test on Thursday. *Spelling: Our spelling focus this week was words with the “f” sound and next week it is contractions! *Math: We continued revisiting multiplication and division. Students are continuing to practice strategies such as drawing a picture, writing a number sentence, and writing an answer statement to solve word problems. We also reviewed the commutative and distributive properties. *Science: We are starting our unit on Matter! *Writing: For writing, we are learning how to write short responses to text-dependent questions. We are also Important Information Recess: The weather is getting colder. We do make an attempt to go outside for recess every day. Please make sure your child has the appropriate gear for the weather.
