In our brand new £31 million building, the ICT facilities at Waingels are superb. You will have access to lap tops; Apple-Macs; Touch-Screen computers and a dedicated suite of hard-wired desktops at all times to support you in your studies.

In Design Technology there is Cad Cam equipment and video conferencing for Media Studies is at the cutting edge. Every subject area has brand new facilities and equipment to enhance your learning experience. The Sixth Form Community Block is provided for recreation and private study with the Library accessible at all times. The facilities allow for both group and independent study with refreshments and catering facilities for leisure times.

Whether you are interested in a three week excursion to Peru through World Challenge; Skiing in USA, Art trips to Venice, Drama trips to Barcelona, Cultural trips to Rome and Naples or just helping with a range of charities you will benefit from the opportunities available to all of you to “get involved”.

Organising special social events for the rest of the Sixth Form and the community through fund raising and close liaison with Interact

club (branch of Rotary) and driving the development of the school through Student Voice is available to all,

as is working here as a paid employee alongside other adult staff during the day and the evening.

You can depend on us welcoming any of your good ideas which we will make into a reality. As Community Captains, you have the chance to work closely with your teachers to help support the needs of younger students which provides you with an excellent experience with which to enhance your UCAS Statement.

ThewonderfulnewfacilitiesthatWaingelsnowhastooffermaketheSixthFormagreatplacetoachieveandreachyourfullpotential.Thefantasticmodern,openspaces,speciallydedicatedSixthFormstudyareasandtheplentifulICTequipmentmakesWaingelsanidealplacetostudy.

TheSixthFormexperienceisverydifferentfromYears7-11.Youhavetolearntoworkmoreindependently,butwiththehelpofthededicatedstaffandnewstudyspacesthisiseasilyachievableforallstudents.

Waingelsisanexciting,livelyplacetobeintheSixthForm,whilstalsobeingintegratedwithintherestoftheschool.Youaregiventheopportunitiestofurtheryourleadershipskillsbyassistingwiththeneedsofyoungerstudents,eitherthroughtheHeadTeamorCommunityCaptainroles.Ifyouworkhardyouwillmostdefinitelyberewardedwithafantasticsociallife.PartiesarrangedbytheHeadTeamareatradition,asarethemany‘icebreakers’betweenYears12and13andarealwaysgreatfun.ThisallgoestomakethetimeatWaingelsSixthFormagreatexperienceandonethatIcanwholeheartedlyrecommend.”
