Wadi Walk this Saturday, 22 March 2014: We move out on the wadi at 6:00am sharp, so recommend you get there 5-10 minutes ahead of start time. Start location: L Cluster Park on the wadi-same as always. Estimated end time: 9:00am-9:30am. Distance: 10-11 miles Duration: 3-3 ½ hours Direction to the starting point Go to circle 8. When in circle 8 take a right so that the Kuwait Embassy is on your right side. Go along that road and take the third left. Go down that road until you reach a small park / end of road. We will be in the parking area next to the park. General Wadi Walk Tips If you just want to walk on your own schedule, here are a few common sense tips: Make sure you have your cell phone (or bring someone that has one!) Pre-hydrate…Pre-hydrate…Pre-hydrate. Drink plenty of water before walking. Carry water with you. Wear sunscreen. Bring a friend to help you with dogs (not as much of a problem recently) and trip hazards. Wear a hat that provides protection from the sun. Comfortable walking shoes and socks. Pack some band aids in case of blister. Camera if desired. NO PHOTOS OF DQ ENTRANCES OR OF DQ FACILITIES OR SECURITY FORCE! Keep cameras in your backpack to avoid any issues. Light color clothing. Long sleeves recommended. Now with the cooler weather, consider wearing layers of clothing. Running on the DQ Men and women can and do jog on the trails and sidewalks of the DQ. Common sense Western work- out clothing (including running shorts) is fine for both genders.
