2020 has been the most challenging year for WA’s hospitality industry. We have had a critical role in containing COVID-19 with much to celebrate.

The AHA-Aon Hospitality Awards for Excellence recognise WA’s leading venues and staff. Nominating is free and there are over 35 award categories to suit every hospitality venue.

The Hospitality Awards for Excellence will be held at the 2020 Lion Beer Australia Gala Ball at Crown Perth on Monday 16 November 2020.

Over 1,000 people from all corners of WA’s hospitality sector attend this event.

Winners are presented with a specially framed award for venue display and can use special Awards logos in marketing and promotional activities.

OVERALL CRITERIA• Venues open at least three (3) months prior to nominating.

EVENT SUPPORTERS

STEP 2 - SUBMISSIONOnline submissions must meet criteria and be completed for each category by 14 September 2020.

• Address award criteria in full and upload required documents. Employee’s resumes must be up to date and submitted for employee categories.

• Each submission should not exceed 1,000 words.

• Venues must have operated for a minimum of three (3) months at the time of nominating and employees must have been employed at the venue for a minimum of three (3) months.

• Supporting material adds credibility to your submission. Ensure all statements can be substantiated.

• Photographs of your venue or employee must be included in your submission. These must be in high-resolution format (JPG or PNG). Photographs are used for a large screen presentation at the Gala Dinner and must be of high quality. (Image to be a minimum of 1 megabyte).

STEP 3 - THE DECISION• Venues could be judged at any time after receipt of your submission. You will not be advised as to

when judges visit your premises. The visit, combined with your written submission, will form the basis of judging.

• Judging decision is based on the nominee’s ability to fulfil the criteria for each category. Judging for the employee awards will be completed by written submission followed by a panel interview for finalists and shortlisted for an interview based on the success of their written submissions.

• Employee interviews will commence between 5 - 9 October / 12 - 16 October 2020 at the AHA office in West Perth.

• The judges’ decisions are final and no discussion entered into.
