INTRODUCING SAM HALVERSON | Sam Halverson is the Associate Director of Connectional Ministries for Youth and Young Adult Ministries in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Sam has been involved in youth ministry for over 30 years working in churches all over the country. Sam is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. Sam has been married to Kathy for 23 years, and they have 2 children: Jesse (21), Megan (17). We are excited to welcome Sam Halverson today! FIND YOUR SPOT IN MINISTRY AT 11contemporary | We are looking for additional volunteers to help in ministry at the 11contemporary service. Help is needed with our Host Team, Audio/Visual Team, and Worship Design Team. HOST TEAM are the individuals who welcome us to worship and help guide us through our worship gatherings (collecting offering, distributing worship guides, etc.) The AUDIO/VISUAL TEAM works behind the scenes to provide quality sound and visual effects, including lighting and slides. The WORSHIP DESIGN TEAM will work with Matt to create a visually appealing worship experience with artwork and stage designs. Run for Veterans 5k | Saturday, July 22 │8:00 AM

This race will be held at Bramlett Elementary School, 622 Freeman Brock Rd., Auburn, GA, on Saturday, July

22, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Entry Fee is $20.00. Make check payable to and mail registration forms with

payment to the Northeast Georgia Homeless Veterans Shelter, 80 MLK Jr., Dr., Winder, 30680. Same day

registration will at 7:00 a.m. at Bramlett Elementary School. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Northeast

Georgia Homeless Veterans Shelter. Pick up registration forms in the Stars Café at the Fitness Office. For

Bethlehem Elementary Workdays | Wednesday & Thursday, July 26 & 27

In partnership with Bethlehem Elementary School (BES), the teachers can use our help as they get ready for

new students. Let’s help the teachers unload boxes, put out books, stuff information folders and packets,

sharpen pencils, set up desks, and much more. Join us at the school on Wednesday, July 26, from 1:00 - 3:00

We invite all families to join us on July 30 for a special Family Worship Experience at 11contemporary where

we will get a glimpse of what it is like in our children's ministry and what they are learning. Following the

current series at 11contemporary, “Amazing Stories of the Old Testament,” this service will focus on Noah

and we will learn how Noah was obedient. Please join us and see what this special service is all about.

ministry areas at Bethlehem First UMC. Make your selection at our Ministry Fair on Sunday, July 30th,

from 8:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Areas to consider: Choir, Communion, Audio/Visual, Sanctuary Steward,

Hospitality, Host, Worship Team, After School Ministry, Preschool Story Reader, Soccer, Basketball,

Cheer, Crochet Ministry, Funeral Meals Host, Prayer Ministry, Special Events Helper, Children’s

Volunteer (ages PreK-K; 1st-5th Grade) Youth Volunteer (6-12 Grade), Nursery Helper, Special Events,

Parent Meeting for 4th -5th Graders | Friday, August 4 | 7:00 PM

If you are the parent of a child in 4th-5th grade, please make plans to attend this parent meeting. As

many of you know, 5th grade has been moved into the children's ministry this year and we are going to

be forming a 4th-5th grade group. This meeting for parents will explain what is going to happen this

year with this group as well as reveal the special events that this group will participate in over the course

of the next school year. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Then, you can drop off your

children for the night as they will have a lock-in at the church - more information to be sent out via

email soon.
