In closing, Dr. Paringit said that "technologies canonly be successful if people would use it , keepingan open mind about using these systems and tools to serve our purpose."

Future of Work in a Healthierand More Resilient Environment

Mr. Hideki Kagohashi, Enterprise DevelopmentSpecialist at ILO-Manila discussed the impact ofthe pandemic on the world of work, the continuingchallenges amid the battle to contain it and countryresponses to ensure that the future of work isdecent, safer, healthier, and more resilient to unlockand enable productivity of workers and enterprises.

In his presentation, he said that "COVID-19 is acatalyst to reinvent the future of work and createopportunities for companies to look at thingsdifferently."

The pandemic, he added, has brought the futureof work much faster than people thought and thatmost of the recommendations of the future of workremain valid in the context of new normal.

During the open forum, Mr. Kagohashi was askedabout the the new key performance indicators thatprivate companies should look at during and afterthe pandemic. He replied that the public healthauthorities and the labor and employmentdepartment should sit together to discuss andmonitor the right key performance indicators. "Wecannot just talk about the typical labor marketindicators," Mr. Kagohasi emphasized.

Undersecretary Aldaba talked about the rise ofautomation and artificial intelligence (AI) in the countryand how it would affect industries during and after theCOVID-19 pandemic and the government's strategicplan, key initiatives and milestones needed to realizethe country's goal for adopting AI.

Technology-Enabled Solutions: Mitigation to Recovery

The third session of this webinar series was on thetopic "Technology-Enabled Solutions: Mitigation toRecovery" with Executive Director Enrico C. Paringit ofthe Philippine Council for Industry, Energy andEmerging Technology Research and Development(DOST-PCIEERD) as resource person.

Executive Director Paringit discussed informationtechnology-based solutions for mitigating disasters,like the COVID-19 pandemic. He talked about thetechnologies that businesses adopt to drive productionor service delivery targets amid disruption. Movingforward, more enterprises will innovate, automateprocesses and adopt breakthrough technologies not only to meet health and safety requirements of the

In SOCCSKSARGEN, RTWPB-XII’s session onSeptember 14, 2020 via Zoom featured Director Arlen R.Bisnon, Head of DOLE South Cotabato Field Office asguest speaker who formally opened the session.

Meanwhile, invited resource speakers, Ms. LucilaZingapan of Sueno Group of Companies and Ms.Rhea Plaza of Dr. Alfreds Essentials, Inc. shared andpresented their unique benefits packages in time ofpandemic. Both were regional winners of the 2019Productivity Olympics and became national finalists.
