This Week: Hearts on Fire
Today the 2020 Catholic Ministries
Appeal begins in our parish and
throughout the Diocese of Lafayette-in-
Indiana. This appeal is an opportunity to
unite all Catholics in our diocese, share
our blessings, and invest our energy, prayers and treasure
in the work of ministry to which God has called us.
A gift to this appeal benefits both our parish and diocese.
Please give generously as God has been generous with us.
The theme for this appeal is Hearts on Fire. In
considering our assistance of the Church’s work, we pray
that our hearts will be on fire for her mission in our own
lives, in our parish, and throughout the diocese. The
Catholic Ministries Appeal is a convenient way to fulfill
our responsibility to the Church and to other people,
especially to the poor and marginalized.
The Church lives in the world, so it needs money to purchase goods and services for its ministries, and
also resources to carry out its mission. We have a golden opportunity on this Commitment Sunday to contribute to ministry, education, and to serve those
in need. Moreover, by giving to the Catholic Ministries Appeal, you are helping to support programs for our retired priests, seminarians, youth,
Newman Centers, deacons, prison ministry, Hispanic ministry, pregnancy centers, and so much more!
Our parish family has been asked to raise $123,021. In order to reach that goal, I am asking each household (including my own) to prayerfully discern
a gift that can be paid over the next 16 months with the goal to set more hearts on fire. We remember that people are more important than things and the most important person in our life is Jesus Christ.

VIRTUAL FISH FRY!
What does this mean? We will not be having a fish fry on site this year but we will be selling $10 gift cards. Ways to Participate... Purchase gift cards online from Oct 1-11 and pick up after Mass on Oct 3/4 or 10/11 OR purchase gift cards after Masses on Oct 3/4 & 10/11 How to Use Your Gift Card... You can use your gift card for take out or dine in at any 9 Irish location. For every $10 spent, you will receive a Dairy Queen Ice cream cone ticket (while supplies last) redeemable in store. WHY? To support our local community. All proceeds will go back to 9 Irish to thank them for their years of service and to support them, a local, small business that has been impacted by the pandemic. This would make a great gift for teachers/mail carriers/service professionals, etc. Questions? Contact the parish office 765-463-5733.
Upcoming retreats
Check out St. Joseph Retreat and Conference Center for
their upcoming retreats at stjosephretreat.org
Our material goods are a means to an end and not the end itself. Ultimately, God’s end, the salvation of souls
of families, our parish, the diocese and beyond it are what truly matters to Him.
Thank you for your continued stewardship and prayers as we begin this important diocesan effort, the Catholic Ministries Appeal: Hearts on Fire!
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, pray for us!

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need, may
they find consolation in your healing presence. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the
Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
Please pray an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the
following parishioners and their families, and always keep all
families in your prayers.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR PRIESTS
“Jesus, Eternal High Priest, live in (Name of Priest), act in
him, speak in and through him. Think your thoughts in his
mind, and love through his heart. Teach, lead, and guide
him always. Let him live in you, and keep him in this
intimate union always. Amen.”
