The post holder will oversee a program to maximise support from these funding streams, maintaining a rolling programme of prospect research, taking responsibility for sustaining and developing existing partnerships, and developing, drafting and submitting applications to prospective funders. The post holder will also be required to assist in fundraising from major donors and corporate contacts when appropriate. MAIN PURPOSE OF POST

The Senior Partnerships Officer (Trusts, Foundations & Statutory), is responsible for fundraising from Trusts, Foundations and the Statutory sector. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Fundraising

1.1.Develop and implement a strategy for maximising income from Trusts, Foundations and the statutory sector.

1.2.To be personally responsible for a portfolio of prospective and existing high value Trust relationships

1.3.Ensure that all Trust and Statutory applications and proposals are of a high quality, tailored and appropriate

1.5.Research potential Trust and Statutory funders using relevant research mechanisms and maintain a rolling programme of prospects. Ensure all prospects are correctly logged on the Fundraising database: Raiser’s Edge.

1.6.Work to match funders’ aims with Women’s Aid’s Vision, Purpose and Mission, packaging up relevant areas of Women’s Aid’s work and strategy to be appealing to funders.

1.7. Present proposals and packages for major donors and corporate contacts as required.

1.8.Assist with the organisation of fundraising events as required.

2. Information management, monitoring and evaluation

2.1.Establish appropriate means of monitoring and evaluating activity, and ensure that all reports to funders are delivered to meet deadlines.

2.2.Take responsibility for ensuring that full records of all contacts are maintained on the database and relevant reports are produced.

2.3.Use the Fundraising database Raiser’s Edge to analyse success rates to support the Fundraising strategy.

2.4.Keep up-to-date with new developments/funding opportunities.2.5.Support the CEO and participate in VIP/Roundtable Stakeholder events

3. Line management

3.1 To carry out management, supervision, appraisal and development of appropriate staff in the department to ensure high quality service and achievement of the annual business plan.

3.2 To record and monitor team contractual entitlements each year, such as annual leave allowance and usage, and report as required to management and central HR representative.

4. Financial

4.1. Compile project budgets for Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Donor funders.

4.2.Ensure that all donations are quickly and correctly processed and acknowledged and that reports are available in the appropriate format.

5. Contact and Liaison

5.1.Provide excellent account management to partner organisations and donors. This will include trusts and foundations, statutory partners, and some major donors.

5.2.Develop and manage key supporter relationships, sharing information and leads as appropriate.

5.3.Liaise with Women’s Aid members as appropriate with regard to partnerships fundraising, and other sector organisations

5.4.Work closely with other members of Women’s Aid’s Fundraising team in managing key donor accounts which span multiple fundraising disciplines, ensuring that approaches to prospects are co-ordinated effectively for the long term benefit of Women’s Aid.

5.5.Liaise where appropriate with external agencies and suppliers.

6. Quality Control

6.1.Take responsibility for ensuring that applications and reports are completed to the criteria and standard as specified by the funder and that they are reflective of Women’s Aid’s mission and values and conform to Women’s Aid’s branding standards.

7. Expectations

7.1.To travel to meetings throughout the UK, which may require overnight stays.

7.2.To occasionally work unsociable hour’s e.g. attending evening or weekend meetings/conferences or travel to Women’s Aid’s offices.

7.3.To be responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of Women’s Aid’s message within the scope of fundraising and for ensuring that all activity is undertaken in such a way as will not compromise the good name of Women’s Aid or its legal or financial liability.

7.4.To attend and contribute to team and departmental meetings.7.5.To attend and contribute to the supervision and appraisal process.7.6.To uphold and promote Women’s Aid’s policies ensuring that their intention

and spirit is followed.7.7.Other duties that may, from time to time, be necessary and compatible with

the nature and grade of this post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Senior Partnerships Officer

EXPERIENCEEssential: Proven experience of successful trust and /or statutory Fundraising Evidence leading a team on a specific project or activity Proven track record of acquiring bids of over £100,000 Demonstrable initiative and determination. Proven ability to work alone and as part of a team Experience of writing reports on activities, summarising and analysing figures to

make recommendations using Word, Excel and databases

Desirable: Line management experience Knowledge or experience of fundraising from major donors and/or the corporate

sector.

SKILLS & ABILITIESEssential: Demonstrable experience in developing positive relationships with trusts,

foundations and statutory organisations Experience of researching and developing targeted proposals for presentation

to prospective funders. Experience of developing a strategy to meet targets Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping A flexible approach to work with the ability to manage competing deadlines and

priorities Good interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with people at all levels, on the

telephone, face to face and in writing, together with the ability to make presentations on fundraising ideas and the work of Women’s Aid to diverse audiences.

Desirable Ability to monitor and evaluate patterns of support and matching appropriate

applications Experience of working within agreed budgetary constraints, ensuring that

expenditure is maintained within budgets, and that income is closely monitored

KNOWLEDGEEssential: Experience of compiling budgets for funders

EDUCATION/TRAININGEssential: A fundraising specific qualification Experience of using a CRM Fundraising database, preferably Raiser’s Edge

OTHER REQUIREMENTSEssential:

Able to demonstrate a commitment and sensitivity of the aims and objectives of Women’s Aid;

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Terms of appointment: Confirmation of appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. This will normally be of six months (less for short term contracts). During this time an employee will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. During the probationary period employment may be terminated in writing, giving one week's notice by either party (this may be waived by mutual agreement). Only any statutory dismissal procedure will apply during the probationary period. There is no probationary period for contracts of under 3 months.

Salary: £29,936 - £33,500. (On an incremental scale guided by the NJC Local authority pay scale points 35-39) + benefits. Salary is paid in arrears through bank credit by the 25th of each month. Part time staff receive pro-rata payment based on hours worked.

Working hours: The standard working hours for this post are 37 hours per week, based in Bristol or London; benefits include a generous bank holidays and annual leave package and contributory pension scheme.

Support and supervision: Women’s Aid has a commitment to providing regular supervision and support to staff with annual appraisals forming a key part of staff development. We have a training policy in place and encourage staff to take an active role in their career development plan. Pension: Women’s Aid is enrolled with the People’s Pension scheme. Women’s Aid normally contributes 7% of salary and the employee contributes 3% towards the group pension scheme. Eligible staff will be automatically enrolled on the scheme when they have successfully completed the 3 month interim probationary review. .

Annual Leave: Women’s Aid offers an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year rising by one day per year until 30 days annual leave per year is reached. In addition, we offer 8 days public holidays plus 2 additional days in March and August. All leave entitlement is calculated pro-rata for part time employees.

Other leave: Employees have contractual rights to time off for reasons of sickness, maternity and other circumstances.

Period of notice: 2 months after your probationary period has been completed.

Union: You have a right to membership of a trade union. Women’s Aid recognises Unison.

Asylum and Immigration Act 1996: To comply with this Act, Women’s Aid will need to see the original of at least one document from a specified list, most commonly a British Passport.
