Reduced operating costs

The Vortex is so e�cient that you can dry 40 hands for the

cost of 1 paper towel.

Typically, the unit achieves operating cost savings of up to

95% compared to paper towels and an energy reduction

of up to 88% compared to a conventional 2400W dryer*.

This can result in paybacks of less than a year for paper

towels and less than 2 years compared to a conventional

2400W dryer. Over its lifetime the Vortex dryer has lower

operating costs than any other hand dryer on the market

because the unit consumes much less power and never

compromises on performance.

The patented technology means that the Vortex dryer

consumes just 550W of power compared to as much as

2400W with conventional dryers. This is achieved in two

ways:

- By utilising a highly energy e�cient ‘brushless’ motor to

accelerate the air.

- By recycling heated air; once the warm air is blown out

of the dryer a portion is sucked back in thus reducing the

heat energy required.

Innovative technology

• Our patented award-winning drying technology

uses a compression process to generate the warm

air required for drying, meaning there is no need for

energy-hungry heating elements.

• Following compression, a proportion of the warm

air is then spun into a vortex, which ensures some of

it is recovered back into the dryer.

• This process allows a signi�cant portion of the heat

energy to be recycled, which in turn maximises the

energy e�ciency of the system - without

compromising on performance.

• SAVortex’s �rst product utilising this technology is

the Vortex hand dryer, which has been developed

by our in-house UK-based engineering team over

the past 4 years. It is now successfully installed on

sites across the UK and Europe.

We also minimised the number of parts (see diagram

above), supporting our view is that there is a strong link

between simplicity and durability. Furthermore,

the dryer was designed to be compatible with existing

hand dryer wiring to prevent the need for wasteful

rewiring.

Then, of course, there’s the best-in-class energy

consumption - the Vortex uses less energy than any other

dryer on the market, running at only 550W.

Reduced environmental impact

• By reducing energy consumption compared to

conventional hand dryers, the Vortex hand dryer

signi�cantly reduces greenhouse gas (GHG)

emissions. Compared to a conventional 2.4 kW hand

dryer, the Vortex will reduce GHG by 3 tonnes a year.

• The Vortex hand dryer also signi�cantly reduces

GHG emissions when compared to paper towels.

• Furthermore, eliminating paper towels reduces the

amount of waste sent to land�ll.

Sustainable design

The Vortex hand dryer was conceived using sustainable

design principles and each unit is built by hand at our UK

factory in Wiltshire.

From the outset, our in-house engineering team did

everything possible to minimize its impact on the

environment throughout its life-cycle. We set out to

develop a hand dryer with a life-expectancy of 15 years

compared to as little as 1-2 years for conventional dryers.

To achieve this objective the dryer was designed around a

digital brushless bypass motor, resulting in much less

mechanical wear than in conventional dryers and hence

prolonging active life.

range have a unique built-in 'metering chip'.

This meter records real time energy usage and converts

the data in a simple-to-read, user-friendly way on any

android tablet or PC, allowing Facilities Managers, Energy

Managers, Sustainability Managers and a multitude of

users to explore their energy consumption within

individual properties and/or throughout property

portfolios.

The smart meter will ensure clients understand the actual
