TIME TO CELEBRATEThe Volvo FH16 Ailsa Edition is the ideal reason to celebrate 50 years of Volvo Trucks driving progress in the UK, combining outstanding performance, driver comfort, safety and productivity from the most powerful production truck available. This limited edition model pays homage to Ailsa Trucks, a company established in 1967 by Jim McKelvie and Jim Keyden to market Volvo Trucks in the UK and Ireland. With its unique Ailsa interior and exterior this model is limited to a production run of just 50.

50 YEARS OF DRIVING PROGRESS Tough Swedish winters, a large land mass with a sparse population and high train weights have all contributed to the durability, comfort, safety and power demands of Volvo trucks. This drive for power lead to the development of the Volvo 16 litre engine back in 1987. Today the mighty Volvo FH16 750, is at the top of its game delivering a massive 3550Nm of torque, and is right at the heart of the Volvo FH16 750 Ailsa Edition.

The last 50 years has seen a massive change in Volvo truck design and the Ailsa Edition celebrates this. This truck has a host of active safety systems with front mounted camera, lane change support and high intensity headlights. The microwave, fridge, television and new media package ensures maximum driver comfort while resting in the reclining bunk. On the move Volvo Dynamic Steering reduces driver stress, while the automated I-Shift gearbox manages the power and torque capability. This really is a truck that in every detail is designed for maximum comfort and safety with optimal performance.

THE VOLVO F16. In the last 50 years Volvo has continued to increase power and balance emissions. The first Volvo F16 appeared 30 years ago with a mere class leading 485 hp on tap. Today’s FH16 delivers 35% more.

BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN. Some of the eye-catching interior details include specially designed black leather seats with gold details, black fabric floor mats and engine tunnel mat with gold borders and a black leather steering wheel with gold stitching.
