FUNDRAISERS

The Children’s Society is a national organisation helping children at risk on the streets, disabled children, young refugees, young carers or those within the youth justice system. They are looking for people to organise a collection in their local community, perhaps at a local supermarket, church or a door-to-door collection. Collection weeks are 26 March – 9 April but can be held all year round.

particularly a male benefits adviser to visit male clients at home.

Make the Bromyard Folk Festival a success – office help needed now during the lead up period or help sell wristbands and give out information during June-September.

Natural England need help to protect the historic features and wildlife of Moccas Park, near Bredwardine and The Flits Nature Reserve near Preston on Wye.

Feline Friendly? Help with the daily care of cats and kittens resident at a rescue centre in Allensmore. Tasks range from cleaning out cages, feeding and stroking the animals. Any day of the week.

and then pass them on to others in your community. This will only a few hours on an occasional basis. Full training and support provided.

Want to help ex servicemen and their families?

Assist serving and ex service men and women and their families. SSAFA depends on volunteers in the community to provide practical support and help e.g. home and hospital visits, befriending families etc. Training provided.

Drivers Wanted

Dore Community Transport always needs more drivers to take the housebound and disabled to vital medical appointments or on shopping trips. Drive

the scheme’s MPV or own car – mileage allowance provided.

DRIVERS NEEDED Community Wheels is in urgent need of drivers for Hereford and surrounding parishes. Volunteer drivers with their own cars are needed to take people to

hospital and medical appointments, to the library, to shopping, to visit relatives in care homes etc. A mileage allowance is paid.

HELP YOUNG ADULTS

Help young adults in a supported housing project. Variety of roles ranging from mentoring, running cooking sessions, accompanying to appointments, to providing transport to important appointments and helping with drop in sessions. Full training provided for volunteers with a positive and caring attitude.

RECEPTION Ross & District Community Centre provides useful facilities

for recreational, education and other activities for the people of Ross. It relies on volunteers and needs to find more help for reception.
