How it works
Families interested in hosting apply through the GWCA/CAN Orphan Hosting Website
GWCA/CAN Program Staff reach out to families, discussing the family’s interest in hosting and any potential concerns with their application Families with strong adoption commitment will be given priority
matching. Host-only families will be allowed to host a child as well to be an
advocate for adoption. Volunteer Program Coordinators take over after the contract
/matching phase
![Page 7: Volunteer program coordinator info session](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022070521/58f023c01a28abcd588b459d/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
After contracted and matched, the VPC works with families on documents, counseling, preparation for arrival, etc.
GWCA/CAN Program Staff provide important trainings for families and volunteers throughout the hosting session
After the kids arrive, the VPC checks in with families, communicate/organize all program logistics, and keep in touch with chaperones/translators, etc.
