BARTEReconomy was starting to shift downward, June 1, 2006 but re-

gardless we have been able to be more successful every year.

As of January 2009, The Barter Network has not only saved

customers’ money but also processed transactions in a value

of over 3.3 Million dollars in only 31 Months. To me though,

it is a small feat for a company striving to be the largest barter

company in Florida. Our 2009 goal is to reach an access of

$3 Million dollars in trade transactions among our members,

in 2009 alone. I would like to thank each and every one of

our loyal members as we would not be here if it were not for

you. I know that bartering is what is going to help our mem-

bers stay in business through this economic struggle and help

them thrive when it gets better. If there is anything that I can

personally do for you please let me know.

Thank You,

Jason Bergenske

These are trying times, we’re in a recession, good businesses are closing everyday, the newPresident says that there are no quick answers,No Jobs, War, Famine and there’s a sale atJ.C. Penney’s. What’s a good business personto think about all of this? Well the short answeris don’t give up. You have to keep waking upevery morning and dressing for work. You haveto go back to doing the things that helped tomake your business strong. Open up on time, answer every call and take good care of your customers.People are not going to beat down your door like they usedto. You’re going to have to TRY HARDER! You’re probablynot going to make as much on each sale as you used to.Use Barter Network for some extra advertising and print-ing. Keep your name out there as much as possible. Thebusinesses that pull thru all this are going to be on top. Youneed to keep putting out the best product possible. And al-ways leave a couple of business cards and let them knowthat you appreciate their business. This really goes a longway. I’ve had a lot of our clients tell me how glad they arethat they had Barter Network to rely on during the holidays.

I thanked them and reminded them that wehelp businesses all year long. The Barter Net-work can also help you thru these tough timesby paying YOU $250.00 in trade for everyreferral YOU help us bring on board. Thatcould pay for some extra printing or a newcell phone. Remember… use your trade con-structively whenever you’re ready to spendcash. Times are tough, but at least you don’thave Attila the Hun crashing thru your door

with sword and battle ax slashing. Cheer up and keep try-ing!

For most members, barter is now a way of life and the ex-citement of when you first joined might be over. So how canyou ignite the spark and get excited about barter again? There are many ways to reignite the flame: The first thingyou can do is call the barter of-fice weekly; most people do notcall in weekly to see who thenew members are and they donot realize when a new mem-ber joins and they end upspending cash on a item thatthey could have purchased onbarter. The second thing youcan do is to treat your barter customers like cash payingcustomers. This is a popular statement but somehow mem-bers forget this key point. Not only will you have a happierbusiness experience, you will receive more referrals andmore positive word of mouth. The last thing you can do is

share your barter experience with other people, becausepeople know people. The more people you speak to themore people know about barter, which helps grow ourmembership and gives you a larger variety to trade with. These are simple steps that can have a large affect on howmany businesses you can trade with in the future. So getfired up about bettering trade!
