One of the biggest regrets some of my fellow seniors have is not giving academics and schoolwork as much attention and focus as they knew they could have. To get into the college of your dreams and accomplish all of the goals you set for yourself, don’t forget to focus on your schoolwork during the time you have here at Shore Regional. You can always have fun and study, but you can’t go back in time and fix a failing grade. Work hard, and remember: you can do it! Throughout my four years at Shore Regional, I have learned many things and have gone through several memo- rable experiences. When it comes to academics, it is especially important to remember that success cannot be attained with ease. In my experience, making an organized plan and carrying it through with drive and dedication al- ways leads to accomplishments. It is also extremely help- ful to try to manage time wisely and avoid procrastination. Enjoy your time in high school and remember to take your work seriously. High school is full of many fun things and your time here will be over before you know it. Always strive to do your best in everything you do, be it academics, athletics, or any other extracurricular activities at Shore. One of the biggest regrets some of my fellow seniors have is not giving academics and schoolwork as much attention and focus as they knew they could have. Words of WisdomSeniors’ Advice to Underclassmen

Tim Bernardino says,“Party hard; study harder.”

Angela Salerno says,“Work hard throughout high

school. It will help you out in the long run. Enjoy the time

left that you have.”

David Smolokoff says,“To thine own self, BE

TRUE!”

Brittney Caruso says,“Our lives were over at so many moments, and now they’re all just beginning. Don’t stress over the little

things. There is a whole other world outside of this place.

Be open-minded!”

Niki-Marie Piraquive says,“Don’t rely too much on your friends. Be your own person and you’ll be happier in the

end.”

Katherine O’Toole says,“Hard work pays off especial-ly when it comes to applying to college.”

Chris Hayes says,“Be your own person, create your own paths, and follow

your own dreams.”

Gary Minassian says,“Don’t do as I did.”

Kristen Kuhlthau says,“Senioritis kicks in quicker

than you think.”

Sharen Resnikoff says,“Focus on your future. The

past is the past.”

Courtney Delehanty says,“Enjoy the years of high

school while you can. They go by very quickly.”

Amber Ellison says,“Don’t just start trying junior and senior year because every year counts in the long run. ”

Anna Coyle says,“Enjoy high school while you

can. Time flies!”Lauren Greenwald says,

“Enjoy high school while it lasts.”

Jenni Juliano says,“Start your college search

early!”Kay Kornek says,

“Start your college applica-tions as soon as possible.”

Phil Lehman says,“Avoid the drama.”

Teachers’ Advice to the Class of 2011

Mrs. Gilbert says,“I would suggest to listen to others and take in as much as you

can. Embrace learning while always remembering to honor your inner voice.”

Ms. Blasi says,“I will pass along the last verse of my family’s favorite poem.

Success is failure turned inside out-- The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far,

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-- It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.”

Mrs. Cook says, “Make smart decisions when doing stupid things.”

Mr. Labush says, “It is what it is.”

Mrs. Bertolami says,“I think it is very important to realize and appreciate the

resources that you have; never take anything for granted on your journey. Each encounter you have may potentially lead you to your next great chance,

so be flexible and try to see the big picture. Save your money, you never know.”

Ms. Smith says,“Get an education in a sub-ject, skill, or trade which

can result in future stability.”

Ms. Bahrs says,“Stay focused in college: it is fun to be independent and away from home, but having so much extra time on your

hands may be something you are not used to after years of bell scheduled days. Do not be pulled away from your

studying.”

Teachers Look Back to High SchoolTeachers were asked the following question: What is one thing that you know now that you wish you had known when you were graduating high school?

“The value of prioritizing.”- Mrs. Gilbert

“ I wish I would have paid closer attention in the subjects I had less interest in for the sole reason of beating my husband in Jeopardy! In all honesty, I wish my knowledge base was more ‘well-rounded’, so make sure you take advantage and

keep your eyes and ears open to all experiences in life.”- Mrs. Cook

“That it is what it is.”- Mr. Labush

“Make the most of every minute, as it is a gift.”

- Mrs. Bertolami

“Avoid pursuing areas that have no job market. They

are hard to land well paying careers.”- Ms. Smith

“What do I wish I had known graduating from high school that I know now: honestly, NEARLY EVERYTHING!”

- Ms. Bahrs

Mrs. Miano says,“Congratulations on taking the first step towards adulthood! I wish you much success, personally, academically, and profession-ally as you meet the next chapters in your lives. To that end, you’ll find yourselves face to face with tough decisions more and more as you mature. Try to pick the paths that help, not hurt; heal not wound; and bring others cheer, not sadness. Karma is a

powerful force and I urge you to treat the world as you hope it will treat you: well! Good luck to you all.”

Mr. Ker says, “It is what it is.”
