Last Monday night we had the pleasure of the company of one of Rotaries elder statesman in our local area in Ray Wiles. His story was worth listening to and in his address to the Club there were several relevant comments that apply to today’s Rotary Clubs and could be best referred to as points of wisdom collected over 35 years of Rotary involvement. It was interesting to learn about some of his many interests outside of Rotary. Wednesday night was our Meal from the Heart at Ronald McDonalds at Westmead. From all reports it was a good night. I must apologies for my non attendance as the simple procedure at the Skin Clinic on Wednesday turned out a bigger process than anticipated. A big thank you to all those Club members who volunteered their time and effort. Especial thanks to Adam for coordinating the event and to Thea and Owen Laffin, Beth Fuller and Lauren Law for filling in at very short notice. Our ongoing support for this very worthy organization is always well supported by our Club. A big get well to our Club members who either have the flu or getting over the flu or have the bug that is going around the district at present. It has depleted our numbers over the past weeks however good health is of upmost importance. This weekend sees the first Bunnings BBQ for the new Rotary Year. Margaret and Deanna have the arrangements well in hand and again a thank you to those Club members who have
given of their time to support this event. We are trying some new ideas this weekend to simplify the process and will review and report back to the Club after the weekend. This Monday our Speakers are Peter and Lynda Sparkes continuing their life stories. As we know every person has a story to tell, it is a matter of presenting an opportunity for their story to be told and appreciated. See you all Monday night.
President David
