A President’s Tail On Life 2006 is coming to an end. I want to wish every club member a very happy holiday season. I also want to thank everyone for a fun and successful year. Thanks to the board and committee members who have worked so very hard this year. We have all made a differ-ence.

!!!Please don’t forget to vote for your 2007 officers and board. As we saw from the governors elections every vote does count!!! Also, don’t forget to renew your mem-bership. I can’t wait to see everyone dressed in their finery at the award / holiday party. It will be a fun night to remember, don’t miss it.

I have enjoyed being your president. I have learned many things from you, thank you for that. Finally, I hope I have left a little piece of me with you. This year we have laughed and cried. This is a great club with a great group of members. Let’s continue the wonderful charity work, challenging competition, and camaraderie. Cheers to a great 2007.

Keep on Vett’n Kim West

Trivia Question: How many hours did it take to build the C5, down from 70 hours for the previous C4 model? The answer to last months question was: 1985

I hope everyone is ready for some fun this month!!!

I believe most of you have probably heard of WFAA’s Chief Weather Anchor, Troy Dungan. 2006 is Troy's 31st anni-versary as the official spokesman for Santa's Helpers. Santa’s Helpers is a wonderful organization in it’s 37th year of collecting toys from various metroplex “drop off” locations. All toys are donated to children in Tarrant, Dallas, Collin and Denton counties. This year, Troy and his protégé, Pete Delkus, will be at the Will Rogers Coliseum parking lot on Friday, December 15, between 5 and 10 pm.

Our December charity event will be do-nating toys to this great cause. The board voted to make a cash donation as well as to buy toys from Cowtown Vettes, but I would like to supplement these toys with more toys from you great mem-bers. So, if you would join us for this fun evening, please bring an unwrapped toy with you that night. CTV will be meeting in the rear parking lot of the Omni Thea-tre at 1501 Montgomery Street, Fort Worth. The time to meet will be 7:00 pm. Please consider participating! Be

sure to wear your Santa hat, display your CTV flags and we'll have a long line of Vettes to show Channel 8 what Cowtown Vettes is all about!!! I have also included a flyer that you may post at your work or any other location that may enjoy participating in this worth-while cause. Just complete your name and contact information so that the toys will be picked up before December 15th. If you don't think you will attending or need help with the pick up/delivery of toys bring them to the December meet-ing on Friday, December 1 or contact myself at [email protected] or call me at 817-379-6182. Please re-member all toys must be new and un-wrapped.

Also, don't forget the Easter Seals Walk with Me walk on Saturday, December 2. I previously sent out an all-member email regarding this event. I've signed us up as a team, so you can go online to register. Call or email me with any ques-tions.

I wish all of you very Happy Holidays!!!

Vice President’s Report Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! May you and your

family have a safe and happy holiday!! It’s hard to believe the last Cowtown Membership meet-ing of 2006 is here. We had many of our members come out and support the charities socials, special event so-cials and fun socials this past year. I thank you for your support. A special thanks to Karyn Fowler (The Susan G Komen Race, Cook’s Children’s Car Show and National Kidney Walk), Jack Gandy (The Cruise to Glen Rose) and Carol Savage (The 4th of July Parade) for sponsoring some of this years socials. The December Membership Meeting is a very important meeting to attend. You, as members, will be voting for 2007 Officers and the last vote for Outstanding Male & Female for 2006.

For those who didn’t attend The Cruise to Dick’s Last Resort, you missed a great time. I will say: “What went on at Dick’s Last Resort will stay at Dick’s Last Resort”. If you haven’t been to Dick’s, you have got

to go. The weather was on our side. Our trip started in Arlington and made is way up Hwy 360 to North Hwy 121 and onto Fairway Drive (this street had some wild turns), which took us into Grapevine Lake Park. We stop by the lake and then took Hwy 121 into down-town Dallas. A big thanks to Doug for setting up our drive. December 16th 2006 will be the “Annual Awards Banquet & Holiday Party “. Cocktails & Appetizer’s will begin at 6:15 PM, Dinner Buffet at 7:00 PM, Awards at 8:00 PM and Dancing at 8:30 PM till 12:00 AM. Guests must be 16 yrs or older to attend. Cost per Mem-bers and their guests will be $35.00 per person. BYOB and set-ups. You must RSVP by Dec. 1st. Please make your check out to Cowtown Vettes and send to my home address or bring it to the December Membership meeting. For those members and their guest that may not want to drive home after the banquet, Barb Greenfeder has blocked 15 rooms at the Sleep Inn Speedway. The cost

for two persons with a king bed is $63.99 plus tax. If you are interested, the number is 817-491-3120 (Rooms are blocked under Cowtown Vettes). Thanks Barb!!

During this past year we have made many new friends and visited old friends at our meetings, socials, Annual Event Social, Annual Car Show, Southeast Region Events, NCCC Events and NCCC Convention. As in the past, when I have given my report at the membership meeting and in my articles, I keep emphasizing friend-ship, having fun and the love of a “car” that has brought us together as a family. This is why Cowtown Vettes is the best Club in NCCC and around the country. I want to thank you all again for your support by being at the so-cials and at the membership meetings. It has been an honor to have served as Vice President of 2006, and wish the best and my support to Bobby Gorman next year. I am looking forward to see you all at our Annual Award Banquet. You will have a great time.

National Corvette Museum

Wisconsin couple gives $1.3 million to Corvette Museum A Wisconsin couple donated $1.3 million to the National Corvette Museum in south-central Kentucky, the largest gift in the museum's history. The money, from Ivan and Mary Shrodt of Sherwood, Wis., will go toward a planned $14 million expansion, museum director Wendell Strode said. The project is slated for completion in the sum-mer of 2009. The Shrodts said they gave the money to the Bowling Green mu-seum because they have no children and an affection for Corvettes. "We looked at what we valued and what was important to us," Ivan Shrodt, 60. The museum held a reception in the couple's honor Saturday night, while the Shrodts were in town to pick up their sixth Corvette, a 2007 black Z06 model. "We expanded our garage so we can house them," said Ivan Shrodt, a retired research director for Kimberly Clark Corp. "We drive them all." Strode said fundraising efforts to expand the Corvette museum by 50,200 square feet will increase soon. The project calls for a larger store with attached warehousing space, a library archive, an embroi-dery shop and a Corvette Cafe, which will be a basic diner. provided by Scott Wheeler—Source: StarTribune.com

I am happy to let you all know that Tejas Vettes was able to acquire a new date and free the Sept. 22 & 23, 2007 weekend date so Cowtown now has it’s normal competition date back. It has been scheduled with TMS and the Re-gion. We also will be able to do parade laps at TMS on Sunday morning if we chose to do so. When my husband started talking about getting a Corvette again I was not thrilled. He kept talking about when he owned his 61 and 69 and how great these cars were. He talked about all the work that was done and the paint job on one after a gentle conversation with a curve at night. Well here’s the deal folks. I love my husband and like good wife I supported him in his efforts to find his Corvette. 1962 Charcoal Gray with Red interior from NYC, NY. She only had two other owners and this one was selling to buy his new family a home. So we brought her home and we were thrilled. A month or so later we joined Lonestar Corvette Club but after a meeting or two and a road trip we decided that this just was not the place for us. So we looked around and I remember what my friend Mo had told me. She be-longed to a Corvette Club in Fort Worth and she did some racing. It just happened that Cowtown was having their weekend event at TMS and Paul and I took a drive out there. They were auto crossing in the parking lot and at the time we stood back and really did not see the fun in driving around orange cones in a parking lot in a Corvette. I said to my self these people are crazy if they think this is fun. Well, as always, open my mouth and insert both my feet! We joined Cowtown shortly after that. We acquired a 1992 and went to a practice autocross and got hooked. This year Paul has worked so hard to accomplish his goal. To take a long standing Cowtown car and put it 1st in the Re-gion in competition, all while supporting me as wife, Governor, competitor, and madwoman on many days. I am so proud of him and do take him for granted way too much. 2006 competition season was quite a small one for Cowtown. We did not have as many NCCC competitors this year as in past years. Full time we only had 6. Bobby and Manda Gorman, Doug and Glenda McMahan, Paul and Viola Meyers. We had a great supporting team Bruce and Yvette Lewis, Kevin and Cathy Anthony, Heather Anthony, Doc and Debbi Lambert, Robbie Schneider, Don Wells, Bob and Cindy Morrison, Larry and Sylvia Hoaldridge, Walt Zschirnt, Carl and Audrey Samuel, and the many members who participated in Cowtown’s July event. Paul Meyers raced to 1st in regional men’s points and Glenda McMahan raced to 1st in regional ladies points. Congratulations to both of them on a job well done. Now back to the Governor thing. When we joined the club it was like any thing new. It took a while for us to find our true interests. In our case it is racing. There are so many exciting activities in the club that members work hard to provide so others can enjoy their Corvettes and friendship. As I watched the officers do their jobs I quickly realized that the Governor did a tremendous amount of work with competition and rules at the Regional and National level and this affected how the club competed. I knew that some day I would like to be the Governor and represent Cow-town at this level. When I became Governor two years ago I had no idea of the complexity of the job. I pressed on, learned, made mistakes, asked questions, and became much more comfortable in the position. I have always had the best interest of Cowtown at heart and my goal was to conduct myself that way at both the Regional and National levels. Looking back over the last two years I believe I have accomplished that goal. It wasn’t always easy on any level. The members of the Corvette community are strongly opinionated and hold fast to their beliefs. This is not a bad thing but it does set the stage for some exciting exchanges over matters pertaining to NCCC and the club. My hope is that I have been fair to all who have expressed their views on how the club and NCCC should proceed and have represented how the majority have felt. I have made many friends in this club and I truly enjoy being an actively involved member and representing you as Governor for the past two years. I ask one thing of all of you. Please make any new officers or those appointed to leadership positions feel welcome. Give them your support and the opportu-nity to learn and serve. By the same token, in accepting the positions they have a responsibility to do their homework about their duties and represent you, the members, in the best way they can. Congratulations. Scott Wheeler has been elected your new Governor. I hope you’ll give him the support and encouragement you’ve show me the past two years.

Super Vette Spied! Chevy’s 650-hp Corvette SS on track for 2008 intro By BOB GRITZINGER While the hood scoop indicates this is something other than an ordinary Z06, the real prize is under the hood. Our spies heard the whine of what is most likely a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 pushing as much as 650 hp. The engine,

which will be hand-built at a rate of 1500-2000 per year at the General Mo-tors Performance Center outside Detroit, features an integrated intake manifold intercooler similar to the one GM developed for the Cadillac STS V-Series. Nearly three years have passed since we first reported on Chevrolet’s plans for a super Corvette, a halo model well in excess of the already su-perb Z06. Judging by these spy shots, it appears assurances we were given earlier this year that the car was on the development fast track (“To Hell and Back,” May 8) were right on target. So far, names for the produc-tion supercharged Corvette include everything from Z07 to Blue Devil to Corvette SS to Sting Ray. No matter what they call it, look for production of the 2009 model to start in early 2008. And set aside at least $100,000 if you want to one in your driveway. Check out Great Deals at Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet!

What a great Car Show for our 5th Annual and an appropriate close to a really fun car show season.

First and foremost, a very special thanks to the Car Show Committee who managed to put together un-doubtedly the best annual car show yet and in just 8 short weeks. My thanks also to the many of the members who helped out on show day collecting money, directing traf-fic, performing cone patrol and

even policing the site at the close of the show. With 77 official Vette entries @$15.00/ea, we successfully in-creased the registration fee by 50%, sold approximately $750 in 50/50 raffle tickets. We automated much of the registration and “humanized” both the participant voting and committee vote tabulation. Costs were held to a minimum for our club and our sponsor Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet and our Board will allocate the proceeds to de-serving charities. Judging by the smiles and pics, CTV was very well represented with the show on solid ground for continued growth for years to come.

Now on to the overall Special Events Car Show season…

Beginning with the annual Fort Worth Rod and Custom Car Show in March and effectively culminating with our Halloween show, the season really provides some excel-

lent venues to show our amazing cars. My special thanks to Doug McMahan for linking alternative car show web sites and making sure the points were tallied during the course of the year.

This year the competition really came down to two guys running neck and neck into the final weeks of the season. Last year’s competition took 78 points for first place and first and second will be north of 100. In fact, at the due date for this article and with the final weekend approach-ing, the competition is too close to call. Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Vail, Colorado, man these guys get around! Doc and John should be congratulated for keeping their cars in such excellent condition, making the exceptional the car show circuit and representing our club so well. Could be a photo finish and that’s just the way like it! Guess we will have to wait for the awards dur-ing our Christmas Party Dec. 16th.

Finally it’s been more than getting support in replacing a clutch rod or rebuilding a head light gear. It’s about the wonderful friends we have met over the years as we all continue to appreciate our Corvettes. Both Donna and I want to say thanks to the club and we look forward to our membership and providing committee support for years to come.

Happy Holidays, Donna and Fred

Dear Participants,

Cowtown Vettes Car Show Committee, Cowtown Vettes membership and I want to thank everyone who participated and were a part of Cowtown Vettes 5th annual car show. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and beautiful cars we had a very successful show.

We also want to thank all of the participants who dressed up and entered the Halloween costume contest. Some were very scary and others were pretty funny. Because of your participation we are able to make generous contributions to local charities.

The Car Show Committee is already hard at work planning for next year. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our next meeting, social, and up coming award / holiday party.

Thank you again, President of Cowtown Vettes Kim West

————————————————————–—————10-—–—--———————————————————–——-

The meeting was called to order by president Kim West at 7:07 PM on October 18, 2006 in the boardroom of the Coors Hospitality facility. Secretary (Scott Wheeler for Mo Wheeler) - Scott explained he was substituting for Mo while she was out of town. The practice of running for multiple offices was discussed by the board. This was an issue that Mo had questioned during the nominations for 2007 officers. While there was both positive and negative opinions about the practice, the board found no prohibition against it. Scott reiterated Mo's request that nomi-nees should understand the commitment to attend board meetings. A discussion about posting the nominations on the web site ensued. The results were that we will post all nomi-nees - including those who decline or are ineligible - on the web site. The secretary will provide a list of all nominees to the webmaster and to the Low-Down editor for publication on the web site and in the newsletter respectively. Treasurer (Don Fowler) - Don presented a history of year-end award expenses. Newsletter Editor (Manda Gorman) - Manda has prepared newsletter guidelines. Newsletters being sent to non-members was discussed. The newsletter cost has risen to $3/issue. While the cost is underwritten by our sponsor, Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet, and advertising, the board felt the price for non-members should be more reflective of the cost. There are only two current non-member subscribers. The Low-Down is also sent to the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) Regional Executive for the Southwest Region and to other NCCC Governors upon request. A motion was passed to raise the non-member subscription price from $15/year to $25/year. The motion passed 9-1-1. The 2007 Board will be voting in January for advertising discounts. This is typically done for Creative Designs who, in turn, offers us exceptional service on logo merchandise embroidery. Manda is updating the "Who Does What" section. The preparation and distribution of the NCCC Governor ballot was discussed. Webmaster (Doug McMahan) - Doug discussed some recent problems with the list server. The list server permits central-ized electronic mailing to CTV members, officers, and commit-tees. Doug also discussed some user difficulties with the list server and how he was providing assistance to the users with their problems. NCCC Governor (Viola Myers) - Viola has presented the li-ability insurance paperwork to Fred Rosett for the CTV Car Show. [Secretary's note: NCCC provides liability insurance for our activities through K&K Insurance Company.] Fred will also need to have waivers signed at the Car Show. NCCC Renew-als, Approximately 18-19 received so far. The deadline is the November Membership Meeting; There is an NCCC late fee ($10/member or couple) for renewals received by the South-west Region RMD (Regional Membership Director) after No-vember 15; NCCC is no longer offering refunds for overpay-ments. NCCC minutes of the national meetings are going completely electronic effective January 1, 2007. This means no minutes will be received without eMail. Viola suggested that we not print the CTV minutes in The Low-Down. 2008 NCCC Convention Logo Merchandise: The 2007 CTV NCCC Governor is required to have the convention logo merchandise

for sale at the national meetings starting in September 2007; CTV is the 2008 Convention Logo Merchandise Coordinator; The logo artwork has been chosen; We will have to resolve any problems with using the Southwest Region-mandated vendors. Viola requested that we consider what other ser-vices CTV will provide for the Convention (chair/work a com-petitive event, host a hospitality event, etc.). Vice-President (Don Wells) - Don discussed the holiday party expenses. A $40/person charge was proposed by Don. This is a break-even figure based on 96 attendees. A motion for a $40 charge was made and failed. There was much discussion about reducing the proposed $40 expense. Subsidizing the event this year was not a popular idea because we will have to liquidate our certificates of deposit to do so. There was also concern that we will not meet the 96 attendee figure that is being used for cost estimates. A motion was made and passed (10-0-1) for a party charge of $35/person. The No-vember social - a cruise to Dick's Last Resort - was approved as a 100%ER. Don requested checks for pre-expenses for the holiday party. A motion was made to have Paul & Mary Wolter as our guests at the party. They provide us with the ability to use the Texas Motor Speedway club house for the party. Off Road Racing Committee (Bob Vance) - Bob requested a budget for ORR trophy awards. A motion (Don W./Viola) for a budget of $75 was passed unanimously. Bob will develop an ORR point system. ORR registration practices and affiliations were discussed. Special Events - A goody bag stuffing party will be held on October 24, Charity Committee (Karyn Fowler) - Karyn has maps to the Kidney Charity Walk. Cook's Children's Hospital would like either day time volunteer workers or have us adopt an area. Karyn announced that Larry Hoaldridge sent a check to the Kidney Foundation with the money collected for the Hoaldridge Pool Party. New Business Award Budgets were approved: Cruiser - $290 President - $380 Membership - $500 Governor - $765 Vice-President - $150 Charity - $50 Special Events - $50 Sponsorship - $20 The By Law changes were approved by the Board and may now proceed with the approval process by the membership. The meeting was adjourned some time after 9:00 pm.

Respectfully submitted, Scott Wheeler, Ersatz Secretary

November Membership Meeting Minutes Membership Meeting are in the Hospitality Room at the Coors facility, the first Friday of every month.

November 3, 2006 - The meeting was called to order at 7:40PM by Kim West, President, who then introduced the Officers and Board Members. The 50/50 raffle is in progress. Bob Vance gave a brief explanation of his preparing a proposal for CTV to buy a small brick at the National Corvette Museum. Bob also thanked the Board for approving funds for trophies for the winners of the Open-Road Racing. Bob has been coordi-nating CTV's involvement in the Fort Worth Rod and Custom Show for about 10 years. John Brefczynski will be taking over this coordination from Bob. VICE PRESIDENT (Don Wells) - The following activities are pending: Our Fifth Annual Car Show was a great success. There were 78 cars. We did a 50/50 raffle for charity and col-lected over $600.00 which was split with the winner, Larry Hoaldridge. There was a Halloween Costume Contest. Many participants dressed in costume. Don had the Car Show Com-mittee members stand to be recognized. This was followed by applause. November 18--Cruise to Dick's Last Chance Restau-rant. We will meet at 9:30AM and leave @ 10:00AM. This is November's 100%ER event. Notify Don by November 13, if you will be attending the Cruise. December 16--Annual Awards Banquet/Holiday Party--TMS Club House--the Cost will be $35.00/person. Don needs the money by the December Mem-bership meeting. We will start with a cocktail time, followed by dinner until 8PM. Next will be the presentation of the annual awards. After the awards, we will have a DJ until midnight. The party is BYOB and set-ups. Barb Greenfeder has reserved a block of rooms at a local hotel for those wishing to spend the night close to the party site. (see VP article) There will be no gift exchange. SECRETARY (Mo Wheeler) - A motion was made and sec-onded to approve the minutes as printed in the Low-down. Mo-tion passed. TREASURER (Don Fowler) - Report is in the Newsletter. A motion was made and seconded to approve the Treasurer's Report as printed in the Low-down GOVERNOR (Viola Myers) - Club and NCCC renewals are due. Make sure your information is correct. Use the renewal form in the Low-down. Viola attended the Regional Governors' Meeting last weekend. Bob Patillo was elected Regional Com-petition Director. Cheryl Surdick was elected Regional Mem-bership Director. No club in the region has yet volunteered to hold the 2007 Annual Awards Banquet which is typically held in the Spring. The region has decided on specific 2008 Conven-tion T-shirts for members of the Southwest Region. They will be the same design as all the other shirts, but will be a different color (blue) for SW Region members only. Viola announced the balance in the Southwest Region's bank account. Members asked what the money was being targeted for, Viola was un-sure at this time. The Scholarship Fund amount was also an-nounced. Viola was able to obtain the second weekend of September at TMS as the date for our First Choice Weekend. However, another couple of Southwest Region Clubs had al-ready obtained/booked that September date from the Regional Competition Director as their First Choice Weekend. One of the other clubs has agreed to change their date. However, the other club was unable to change their September date due to being locked into that date at their chosen racing site. Viola

stated that she has offered that that club could put on their event in conjunction with ours. This would mean that CTV would need to put on a 14 (fourteen) event weekend with the assistance of the other club. She will present this to the Board at the meeting later this month. CHARITIES (Karyn Fowler) - Karyn read a Thank You note received from Sharon Zschirnt thanking the club for its support of her and her daughter, Stephanie, during her recent 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Karyn is planning another event at Cook's in December--helping them with decorating. December 3, will be the date for the Easter Seals Walk. Karyn is consider-ing developing a CTV team for this event. TMS (Harry Rumzek) - CTV workers are at TMS this extended weekend (Thursday-Sunday). LOGO MERCHANDISE (Don Wells) - Don has added the 50th Anniversary design to our Logo availability . SPECIAL EVENTS (Fred Rosett) - Fred reported on our An-nual Car Show. He introduced the planning committee and had them stand up to be recognized. He stated that the Car Show had generated new Members and we made more money on this show than ever before. Fred announced that John Brefczynski will be taking over as Chairperson for next year's show. November 19, is the last date to turn in your points. MEMBERSHIP (Yvette Lewis) - Visitors were introduced: Dale and Kathy Thompson--2005 Coupe, Stephen and Janice Arvay--1986 Convertible, Jim and Linda Benware--1993 coupe, Lisa Savage--1979 , Debbie and Rocky --1981 OLD BUSINESS - Barb Greenfeder read the new changes that have been added to the by-law changes. These will be pub-lished in the next newsletter and all changes will be voted on in December. Nominations for Officers/Board - Secretary, Mo Wheeler, read the current slate of members agreeing to run for offices. Additional nomi-nations were taken from the floor. A motion was made and seconded

to close nominations. Mo will notify the new nominees and determine if they will agree to run. The final slate will be published in the December

Low-down. Each member will receive a ballot via their copy of the newsletter. Each member will bring the completed ballot to the Decem-ber Membership meeting. In lieu of bringing the ballot to the meeting, the member may mail the ballot to the Secretary, but it must reach her before the December Membership meeting. Due to the Secretary be-ing related to one of the nominees for Governor, she will give all col-lected ballots to Kim West, President. Kim will keep the ballots until

November 10. On November 10 (as per instructions on the ballot) all ballots received at tonight's meeting plus any additional ballots that have been mailed to the Secretary and to the CTV mail box will be

combined and counted by at least two club members who are not on the ballot and not related to a nominee. The winner will be announced

by Kim West, President. NEW BUSINESS - CTV needs an Audit Committee to review the

treasurer's records for 2006. Notify Kim West if you would like to be on this committee. The audit will be done in January, 2007.

ANNOUNCEMENTS - Tonight was Jerry Lindsey's birthday. The members sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Cake was pro-vided for the membership by his wife, Debbie. The 50/50 raffle was $218.00. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00PM. Respectfully submitted, Mo Wheeler, Secretary, Cowtown Vettes

By the time this is published, the 2006 Cruiser Com-petition will have ended for 2006. When I created this program it was to encourage Mem-bers to enjoy their Vette, especially while attending and participating in Club & NCCC related events.

It is still a surprise (even to me) of who will win the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, one-of-a-kind awards, since the final points / photos where not required before 11/27/06. Re-gardless how many points/pictures you have, turn them in to share where you have been cruising and enjoying your Vette.

Cruiser Points: as an update to the listings from last month (and corrections); if you participated in the follow-ing socials / events here are some log entries to help you keep your CCP forms up to date. If you drove your Vette to these socials and/or NCCC events and took your CCP picture w/CCP logo sheet, you can log the fol-lowing:

>>>NCCC – CCT – Sherman – 10/14/06, <100 miles – 1 pt* >>>NCCC – NTV – Sherman – 10/15/06, <100 miles – 1 pt* Oct Social – CTV Car Show – 10/28/06, <100 miles – 1 pt Nov Social – Dick’s L-Resort – 11/18/06, x miles – 2 pt

Any NCCC Event, you earn 1 point + 1-way mileage pts* *you do not receive mileage credit for the 2nd day of a 2-day event; i.e. mile-age points are only awarded for one day of your stay. Mileage points, like with NCCC and the Car Show points system are based from city to city; example, for Oklahoma City you can use Mapquest Driving Directions to enter a start of Ft Worth, TX and destination of Oklahoma City, OK, providing you with the 201 miles.

The 2006 CCP Awards / Levels are as follows: 1st Place1 = the individual with the highest number of cruiser points 2nd Place1 = the individual with the second highest number of cruiser points 3rd Place1 = the individual with the third highest number of cruiser points

Gold Patch = 75 points2 Silver Patch = 50 points2 Bronze Patch = 35 points2

1 could end in a tie by two or more individuals 2 rec’d by all that reach this level of cruiser points

Be sure to check out the CCP rules and if you have any questions or need clarification, or give me a ring. http://www.cowtownvettes.org/CCP/cruiserpgm.html

Reminder: The CCP competition ended on November 19th (Midnight) and your CCP form and photos must be turned in to

the CCP Chairperson by Monday, November 27th. http://www.cowtownvettes.org/CCP/cruiserpgm.html

December is the final Chapter in the 32nd Year of Cowtown’s His-tory – it has been a busy year with the Club’s socials, Charities func-tions, attending various non-CTV Corvette events throughout the na-tion. In addition to all that, our members participated in various

competition venues which included Open Road Racing, NCCC Autocross, Drag, Funkhana, Rallyes, Concours and Cruiser.

_____________

While the number of NCCC Competitors this year was significantly less than in recent years, Cowtown was rep-resented well. While the competition was primarily in the SW Region, a few traveled to compete out of region. His-tory was made again with the 1st Place honors going to Paul Meyers (Men) and Glenda McMahan for (Women) – CONGRATULATIONS! We had a couple of other Cowtown Competitors finishing in the “Top 10” Regionally and a couple still within the “Top 15” Nationally – for more season ending results see the Skid Pad and the Gover-nor’s Article.

_____________

Cowtown’s Special Events competition has come to an end and the top two places were very back-n-forth with very tight competition this year; running right up to the end of the show season.

_____________

Cowtown’s Cruiser Program (CCP) competition has also come to an end and the history of who will win the top three places this year is still un-written at this time. The participant packets are due about the time your read-ing this article – winners will be announced and presented at the 12/16 Awards Presentation.

_____________

The December Membership Meeting will determine the 2007 Elected Officers – if you won’t be in attendance, please mail in your ballots so that they arrive BEFORE Friday, 12/1/06. Please continue to ponder what Cow-town means to you – why are you a member and most of all, what you desire out of your Cowtown membership – get involved and lets make it happen!

OUTSTANDING MALE / OUTSTANDING FEMALE AWARD

An Outstanding Male and an Outstanding Female Member Award is given each year to the male and female that are considered to have

helped the Club and been very active during that year. Balloting for this award is done three times a year:

at the April, August, and December monthly membership meetings. Votes are taken by secret ballot. The awards are presented at the

Annual Awards Banquet. These members will be refunded their Primary Club membership dues for the following year.
