The students at CEC put on a terrific Christmas concert just before Christmas
break. On December 21st at 1:30pm and 7pm students in Kindergarten to
Grade 6 took to the stage. The witty play, “Is Santa Smarter?” was performed
extremely well by some of the Grade 6 students. This was accompanied by
each grade singing a cheery song of the season. To top it off, the volunteer
Christmas choir was exceptional!
Big thanks to the School Council Committee and Principal Nichols for putting
on a delicious meal for the school. Students and staff look forward to it every
year! Special thanks to all the people that cooked one of the 15 turkeys this
year!

Provincial Bronze Medal Winners!
The Senior Boys’ volleyball team
competed in Kipling/Whitewood.
They qualified for the play-off round,
where they made it to the Provincial
Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, they lost
in three sets to the eventual gold
medal winner. The boys were
successful in winning the bronze
medal match against Moosejaw
Cornerstone. The team worked very
hard to earn their medal. We are so proud of you!
Curling has kicked off for
another great season! They
practice Tuesday and Thursday.
They are hoping to have a girls
team and boys team attend
regional playoffs!
2018 Curling Season Congratulations
to Kindergarten
student Hadley
Grodecki for
winning a gorgeous
new bike. Hadley
was entered
to win by collecting
donations for the
Terry Fox Run!
Enjoy your bike,
Hadley!
Little Caesars Pizza Kit order forms are coming home soon with

12 Days of Christmas (Spirit Week)
The Senior SLC organized Christmas-themed events for the 12 days of
school leading up to December break. Some of the days required students
to dress up — Pj day, Ugly Christmas sweater day, etc., — other days saw
grades competing against each other — guess the Christmas carol, deco-
rate your teacher, etc. To make things even more fun, the SLC held a
sleigh movie in the gym after school for grades 2-12 and a craft for Kinder-
garten and grade one students. Thanks for a fun end of the year, SR SLC!
Yoga Tuesdays
De-stress with a 30-minute beginner yoga session instructed by
Miss Michalchuk on Tuesdays after school. Yoga mats available
at the school, or bring one from home. Bring a water bottle too!
Unleash your creativity and join Mrs. Ball on
Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 for some crafting fun!
No cost or experience required! Grades 3 to 12.
