Maple Parents,
It’s hard to believe that our school year is coming to an end. Every year when I think about how much children grow and change in a single school year, I am amazed. I am amazed at the physical changes that take place. They get taller. Their hair grows longer. Many of the younger children begin to look like “big kids” and less like babies. I am always amazed at the growth children make socially. They make new friends and learn to solve problems among peers, Lastly, is the academic growth! So many children enter our doors in July/August not being able to read. Now they are reading books! Often our younger children don’t recognize numbers, but now they add and subtract. Children learn about science and history, and they are excited about what they learn.
This is why education is the most rewarding job in world and why it is such a privilege to be a part of it! It is a privilege to be Maple’s principal for the 2017-18 school year, and I am excited for the coming year. I look forward to YOUR continued journey as a Maple Pirate too!
