Tales Summer Reading program by offering Independence Day
materials to assist in reaching your Summer Reading goal!
Suggestions include True Tales of the Wild West by Paul Robert
Walker, engaging and surprising true tales collection; July Jitters
by Ron Roy, children enter pets in a July 4th contest, but when
Independence Day arrives the animals are nowhere to be found;
and Apple pie 4th of July by Janet S. Wong, a Chinese American
girl is shocked that her parents are cooking Chinese food to sell
on an all-American holiday.
Register for the Summer Reading Program, and challenge yourself
to turn in your reading log before July 27th to receive your award
at the end of summer party on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

Meet The Staff: Library Clerk
Independence Day
BHML Library Clerk, Ingrid
Armstrong has worked for the City of
Kerrville since 2018, obtaining a
degree from the University of
Montana in Missoula. Ingrid spent 18
years traveling the world forming
new appreciation for a variety of
cultures.
Being an avid reader fostered her
love for books and library interests.
Ingrid worked in a variety of
bookstores and excitedly landed her
current employment opportunity at
Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library.

27,000 journals, over 171,000 eBooks, and over
15 million images, videos, and interactive
resources.
One such database is Gale In Context: Opposing
Viewpoints, offering credible facts and current
insight into today’s most debated political and
social issues. You’ll find viewpoints, reference
articles, videos, and infographics analyzing
current events, economics, environmental
issues, political science, and more.
TexShare databases can be located near the
bottom left of the library catalog page. Contact
BHML at 830-257-8422 and select the reference
desk option with any questions regarding using
Gale in Context.
July Events for Kids & Teens
Our Summer Reading programs continue until July
27th, so there’s still time to sign up!
We have a program for pre-readers, children of read-
ing age, teens, and even adults!
You can pick up a reading log at the Reference Desk,
and make sure to check out our summer calendar for
a schedule of events.
Registration is required for some events, including
LEGO club and the weekly children’s craft sessions.

Library Services:
The Library offers in-person operations and computer
use. Additionally, curbside pickup continues to be
available Monday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We encourage patrons to take advantage of this
convenient option.
The library will be closed on Monday, July 5th, for the
holiday weekend. We will resume normal hours of
operation on Tuesday, July 6th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
