Our Country, Philippines, belongs to the Pacific Ring of Fire. We are located near the deepest Trench and we have the most perfectly coned Volcano, yet, these beauties also bring dangers to our lives. These beauties can destroy not just our belongings but also our lives. So it is best to know what to do before, during and after a disaster.

Volcanic eruptions are one of the most dangerous disasters that might happen in our country. We have 23 active volcanoes in the Philippines. We cant predict the strength of the eruption but there are warning signs that a volcano may erupt.

Here are the four major signs that a volcano may erupt

There is an increase in the seismic activity near and around the volcano.

There is a ground deformation due to the magma that moves upward.

There is an increase in the level of gases associated to the volcanic activity.

There is an increase in the temperature in the area surrounding the volcano.

Now, youre in the second step of becoming a volcano warrior.Before those signs will appear, it would be best if youll prepare first. Everyone needs to be familiar with the safety plan and should be able to execute this if the need arises. Remember, prevention is better than cure.

Here are the things a volcano warrior has to do before an eruption

Tip #1Know the behavior of the past eruptions of the volcanoes near you.Listen to the reports of agencies that monitor the volcanic activity.Always be prepared for the worse.

And to complete the last step, here is my last tip on what to do before a volcanic eruption

Have an emergency funds available in case you need to stay long In the evacuation area.Bring also the following:*extra batteries for flashlights, transistors radios and communication devices*extra clothes

Congratulations! You are done with the second step to being a Volcano Warrior!

Now for the third step, you need to know the things that should be done during the eruption. Here are some of those things.

Listen and Evacuate>You have to listen and heed the governments advice to vacate your house before an eruption and leave your home immediately.

Turn off the main electrical switch and gas valves.

Wear surgical mask or wrap a moist handkerchief or a small towel around your nose.

Proceed immediately to the evacuation area.

Contact your family members, relatives and friends.

Take account of your resources and plan how to use them while in the evacuation area.

And for your last step, you need to know the things that you have to do after an eruption.

Return to your house only when you are told that it is safe.

Do not enter your house yet! Check the damages caused by the eruption.

Check the main electrical switch and the gas valves. If they have not been turned off before evacuation, turn them off

Remove hanging items on the ceiling or wall.

Assess your building or house if it is safe before cleaning.
