Oral Language – Reading a Poem
Our Success Criteria:
Speak expressively
Know the poem
Speak loudly and
clearly
Each week we learn a new poem in class. We have fun poems and look for interesting words and rhyming patterns in the poems. Then when we all know the poem we read it onto the voice thread.
My ReflectionI spoke clearly, and I knew the poems. I said some words like the verbs in the
dinosaur poem more loudly so it would be more interesting to listen to.

It was the 16th of May, it was the Expo day and schools came to Waerenga-O-Kuri school. There was Motu and Tiniroto and we were going in to the library and we talked about copyright and stealing. After we learnt not to copy other people’s things we had to make a plane and we had a competition. Eric won. The boring thing was making the flying fish plane, it had a lot of folds. I enjoyed cops and robbers. People that had the bands had to tackle and the people that don’t have bands don’t tackle. I had a band and I got mashed on the ground. I had to go to jail. The Expo day was awesome.

Autumn is a fiery blanket that is crunchy and you can ride your bike and it always flies in my face.
Autumn is fiery red crackling leaves falling on the ground like a soft duvet.
Autumn is a picnic in the park with pumpkin and tomatoes.
Autumn is kites twirling and dancing in the air on a windy day.

BIKING TO THE MOTU FALLSZoom zap I sped down the steep hill. Our school went to Motu School camp, for cycle safety and the triathlon.Biking to the Motu Falls and going across the swing bridge was my best part at camp. Speeding up and down the hills to the waterfall was a little scary because I was skidding down. I could hear water hitting the rocks when I got closer to the falls.By Josh Click to
